I recently discovered that my girlfriend is having a relationship with someone else.

As far as I can tell it's been mostly an online thing.

Although I'm a bit shaken I'm not mad at her and want to deal with everything in the right way, even if that take a bit of time.

I would read this as a yes. But I'd be careful how I went about it. And before making a firm decision about what to do, I would ask the IC "What will be the consequence of confronting my girlfriend about her online relationship?" I think this question will give you more useful and clear insights. And could even ask what the consequence is of just letting it go.
