Hello, longtime reader here, first time poster :)

I have been concerned about the tense state of affairs in the US lately and recently someone urged me to invest in silver, as this person is convinced that the dollar is going to collapse soon and that silver is going to be huge. I consulted the iching and received hexagram 36 (Darkening of the Light), lines 1, 3, and 5 changing to hexagram 8 (Union).

I'm having trouble interpreting this answer, since I can read it both as a warning to not engage with new investment ventures (i.e. don't make any big moves like converting my savings into silver) and advice to hold steady and weather the coming storm, but can also read it as a warning of rough times ahead (i.e. in the economy, etc), during which I may be initially looked down on by others around me (e.g. for doing something strange/drastic like draining my bank account to invest in silver), but which may ultimately turn in my favor.

Any thoughts? Your insights are always appreciated (and thank you, by the way, for providing me such a valuable resource over the years, as I've read over so many of your posts and replies :giggle:).

The economic situation is troubled in many countries now and lots of people are thinking about investment, at least to save their money's value.

Your reading says protect your light (here, money) and ask for help. Don't be ambitious for the moment, maybe you'll encounter problems in investment, so it's better to continue your current ways in order to save what you have. In other words, I don't find the cast encouraging.

Thank you for your input! I am leaning towards this interpretation as well. I'm also thinking about the money that I do have tied up in stocks, and whether that is best left where it is or moved to a more stable savings account
