So I had a reading done....

About a guy that could be a potential partner for me. The 6th into 2nd hexagrams were the results. I read up on the meanings but I wonder if anyone could give me better clarity if it's an absolute no in the long run and just be friends or if it's spmething that could be worked on?

When posting the hexagrams received, the usual most easily understood format is to write the number of the hexagram, then a dot, and then the number of the line and if you get more than one line write another dot and then the next line and so forth. After you have written the number of the first hexagram and the numbers for the lines, write a dash and the number of the resulting hexagram.

So perhaps you need to consider just what “partnership” means to you.
Marriage, exclusive steady, friends with benefits?

6.2 This line certainly seems to be saying back off - but why?
6.4 This line says see things from the other person’s point of view. Perhaps try to imagine all the reasons why keeping your connection at the friendship level is for the best - at least for now.
6.5 Once you are able to recognize why that is then even if you decide to keep things just as they are it’s still a win-win.
6.6 Of course you may find it difficult to continue to be just friends given your true feelings.

2. Getting The Receptive as the second hexagram can mean the action taken as described by the first hexagram results in peace or silence.In this instance I think it means that as you honestly consider the real potential for partnership here you come to recognize there are some significant “conflicts” and that you are better off keeping things quiet.
Is he by any chance involved with someone else at the moment?

Thank you for your insight Rosada!I got the reading done from another person so I'm not sure which lines came first and last. All he told me was that we got a 6 into 2 and ultimately it would be better for us to be friends. And although I do see the potential, he has alot of growing up to do in certain areas and I need reliable friends more than anything at this time in my life anyway. If it's meant to happen, then maybe it'll happen over time. He may not like to hear this when I tell him but it's definitely for the best for both of us. And he isn't seeing anyone but the mother of his kids still wants to be with him even though he doesn't want to. There's issues with that and that's most likely one of the reasons I got those cards too. unhealthy emotional/possessive attachment. I've finally come to terms with my feelings and reading. I want a healthy and beautiful relationship with the right man under the best and most suitable conditions for the both of us. And that's that. All is well and thank you again.
