stupid question... profound answer?

I'm turning 35 this year. It seems like a watershed moment in anyone's life, and I also have several pervasive uncertainties - my contract on my job runs out this year, and I'm considering a career change. I do have a tendency to be dreamy and lose myself in possibilities. And I am slightly in that phase now - though trying to be realistic.

So I asked the Yi, What will the next ten years of my life be like?

I know, I know... kind of a silly question. The responsible thing to do would probably be to say something like, "What do I need to understand about ...?" But if you can't be self-indulgent by the age of 35...

I think I got a bit of a rap on the knuckles from the Yi, but it seemed to me a profound answer. I received

Hexagram 9

changing lines 3 and 6.

Is the Yi saying, "Stay open, but stay grounded... and maybe don't be so silly"? It does have a sense of humour at times I have noticed.

Thank you! G

Hi there

What i get from both lines is advice on taking your time, don't push ahead just because you are 35, if you follow this advice you should be reasonably happy in 10 years and be able to look back at what you have accomplished. That makes sense as most big accomplishments are made of many small ones.

Yes, small movements, that makes sense, and maintaining equilibrium, not being fixated on ideals I guess. Thank you very much Steve, very sane and helpful input.
