I'm might be having some surgery done and trying to pick the one that is right for me

Question was what about Surgeon A for my procedure?

Surgeon A

48 The Well

Surgeon B

4.5.6

I normally don't read Hex 4

so I asked for clarification and got

21.1 to 35

I would go with surgeon A as the well suggests knowledge and talents that will be used to help others.

Surgeon B Hex 4.5,6 does not look to be as competent as the other surgeon. Hex 21.1 is not good either as it is talking about punishing someone for doing something wrong and thus warns you to not go with this surgeon.

Thanks willowfox.

I was rushing off to work and got the 4 hex wrong, it is 4 with changing lines 5 and 6.

It is funny because my GP referred me to Surgeon B saying he was the best. I had asked him about Surgeon A but he didn't feel good about referring me to him as some people had problems. With surgeon A I talked to 2 others who used him and were thrilled with the outcome.

Hi Galah,

21.1 "It is a warning to halt in time on the path of evil." but this leads to
35 "ever widening expansion and clarity."

48 "an inexhaustible dispensing of nourishment." "We must go down to the very foundations of life." Human nature is universal. "two dangers threaten: a man may fail in his education to penetrate to the real roots of humanity and remain fixed in convention–a partial education of this sort is as bad as none–or he may suddenly collapse and neglect his self-development."

Here is how I interpret these with your question.

Surgeon A could help you IF two conditions are met. First, the surgeon must have comprehensive training and experience in order to resolve the root of the problem. Second, you must be willing to participate fully in your own program of care. For example, if there is a follow-up therapy or diet, you must persist with it. If these conditions are not met, 48 warns that the underlying issue might occur again - until you step up your own efforts.

With Surgeon B, something important is overlooked. It might be that the surgeon is not noticing something relevant. On the other hand, this surgeon might be able to help you identify a factor that has not been correctly diagnosed yet. If the warning is correctly heeded, you will have an excellent outcome that makes your life a lot better.

Both of these hexagrams depict problems from not going all the way down to the bottom of the issue. I would urge you to make sure that the diagnosis is complete, thorough and accurate. A second opinion might be helpful. In addition, ask the Yi if there is something more to understand before you start surgery.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your insight.
Both surgeons are highly skilled. I had some surgery before and follow the aftercare to the letter so yes I would do that this time. I could see others too as they aren't the only ones.

I asked the yi the additional question you suggested

Is there something more I need to understand before doing Z surgery?

Answer

49.2.5 to 34

49.2.5 to 34

I didn't respond yet because I want to find out what this means to you.

Well I would say 49 certainly is appropriate for the type of surgery I am having. :)

I'm having excess skin and fat removed.

My thoughts are that this will be a major change for me but that I need to be aware of proper diet and exercise to keep my great results.

Well, it says that you have tried other methods for fat reduction now you have to go to the extreme measure of cutting and so it tells you to look for the right doctor to do the job but it suggests a very good outcome providing you take care of yourself after the cutting. Then the next line says changing like a tiger, well a tiger is slim and lithe, and has an excellent shaped body. Looks very good to me.

Willowfox, I love that tiger analogy! Reminds of the tiger getting a good cat stretch in "Calvin and Hobbes."

43.2 also seems perfectly focused: "When we have tried in every other way to bring about reforms, but without success, revolution becomes necessary. But such a thoroughgoing upheaval must be carefully prepared.... This brings good fortune and is not a mistake. The first thing to be considered is our inner attitude toward the new condition that will inevitably come."

Then 35 is about a time of easy progress that comes naturally.

Galah, you've got a couple of votes of support here for what the Yi is telling you.

Thanks willowfox and ben!
I like the tiger analogy too. Better to be a sleek tiger than a bulgy toad! :)

I lost a bunch of weight a few years back and my stomach look terrible. I'll take my time and shop around for the best surgeon for the new and improved Me! :)
