Well, I am proud to pronounce to you folks that I have been formally relieved from my job. Odd, you say, that one would be glad to lose one's job in these harsh and trying economic times? The way that I see it, if one does not follow the prompting of one's heart to do the right thing in spite of external circumstances, the universe (or G-d, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Bugs Bunny, Benny Hill) will do it for you no matter how.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I asked Yi, "What if I were to drive a taxi?" This is what I got: 13.4 >37. Now, immediately I looked at the names of the hexagrams and thought that "Fellowship" transforming into "Family or Household" is a good start, but line 4 threw me off a bit, as though I were putting up with the job and not really enjoying it. What do you all think?

What if I were to drive a taxi?
13.4 >37

Line 4 implies further preparation:

Nine in the fourth place means:
He climbs up on his wall; he cannot attack.
Good fortune.

You will, I suppose, be drawing unemployment and so have an opportunity to further you skills as a full-time student. You are thinking mobility, and hexagram 37 implies residence. A long-haul trucker lives in his truck. You might enjoy the adventure.

Hi Pocossin,

Extremely sorry about my much belated reply. First, I want to thank you for your reply. Secondly,I had to let this one play out. I didn't really think that Yi was directly referring to my question and was pointing to something else. I was wondering if Yi was pointing towards a new spiritual relationship. I have not prayed in years due to a lot of bitterness at God for the things in my life. Of course, it always God's fault, right? I am still trying to shake off the old paradigm of God that I was indoctrinated into when going to church years ago e.g. God is good + me a worthless piece of **** = fly straight or crash in hell! Fortunately, I got out of that style of religion for a more platonic denomination. Nevertheless, the seeds were planted and jaded my views.

The last time I had attended a church consistently was back in 2004 when I just gave up completely. I grew tired of externals and dogma, but hungered and thirsted for real inner transformation. Unfortunately, in my disgust with it all, I threw the baby out with the bathwater.

But to get back on point, I think what has happened to me since the beginning of the post to a more recent event (my only means of transportation getting ripped off :duh:) has only served to bring me to a closer spiritual relationship with the Divine. Before getting fired I was empty, mad and burned out. Now, I find that I am more focused on meditation, praying and doing energy healing. All this has helped out so much. So, in retrospect, I think that what is being said is fellowship will begin to be restored (13.4) and will find myself in proper relation to the Divine(37).

Again, I thank you for your input.
