teenagers & my dream job

Hi,

I'm facing a vital and life changing decision regarding custody of my two daughters, which I've had their entire lives. Due to some issues and discord, they're spending their summer vacation in the custody of their father. We now have a custody trial (the 1st we have ever had) coming up in only a few weeks. I'm confused and ervous as to what direction to take. My girls are teens and have challenges like most, thery currently seem to "heta" me and want no contact at all with me:-( It's heartbreaking and difficult. I really don't know what to do. So earlier this morning I asked the Iching for insight and advice regarding the upcoming hearing.
Response: Hexaghram 13 unchanging.
I read Hilary's post on this hex and the aspect of creating harmony sure seems to fit. However, I really don't know what I did in the first place to make them so angry..thus, I'm at a loss as to how to attempt to recreate harmony. Any thoughts or insight into this response?
2nd question:
I've always dreamed of joining the Peace Corps. I see today on their website they have a job I feel qualified and experienced to do. It's in another state though and with the confusion with my children, I'm lost regarding even applying for the position, as if I did get the job, I would very much want to take it! Asked Iching for insight and advice regarding applying to the Peace Corps.
Response: Hexagram 40 unchanging. "Freedom from Hardship" ...that sounds like something I'd enjoy for awhile!! Any thoughts on that hex in regard to my question?

I really hope some of you will feel compelled to respond with your thoughts on these two questions. I'm very confused and twisted around regarding both of these situations and would really appreciate and and all insight I might receive.

I think it is also helpful to have a look at Wilhelm/Baynes interpretation of Hex 13, which is called Fellowship with Men. Hex 13 is considered a complement to Hex 7, The Army. So, when people are in conflict it is time to make peace. What this line of interpretation suggests is to act with "clarity within and strength without". You are going to the custody trial and need clear goals and ideas. What do you expect this "fellowship" to be? In other words, how do you think that you and your daughters could all have a relationship in harmony? And you need all the strength and capacity that you can possibly have to help to create order out of the chaos that is prevalent at the moment. Another important point is, you should expect diversity within this "fellowship". The task here is to bring union but individually people in this group have different ideas and opinions, you need to recognise and accept that as well.

Now, this is my personal opinion, I hope you don't mind. If I were in your position I would try to get to the bottom of this issue by finding out what has made your daughters to act this way. I am saying that because in another post you asked the Yi about the conflict with your daughters and got as response Hex 10.3 didn't you? When I look into your two readings they do suggest to me that something happened. Hex 10.3 represents someone being bitten by the "tiger", which is a dangerous situation. So, what is "the tiger" here? Your daughters' ideas are different from yours? You said or did something that they didn't like or misinterpreted? Was there a misunderstanding? (remember they are still teenagers..) I think that if you manage to clarify this you might be able to get through Hexagram 13 more easily.
