We usually ask the IC a question. Sometimes we don't ask anything, we just listen to what it has to say to us right this moment. And once in a while we feel compelled to say thank you. At least I did.

After a series of particularly enlightening readings I felt like thanking the IC. It was a heartfelt thank you for not only these last readings but all the readings I had done up to that time and everything I had gotten from those in terms of knowledge and understanding of life.

So it was spontaneous but at the same time I was curious about what its reply would be. Although more than a month has gone by since then I keep coming back to this reading regularly as I feel it has special significance. As my understanding of the IC increases, especially of hexagrams 1 and 2, I get a better grasp of its meaning. I can feel it has many layers of meaning but the very broad strokes appear to be that if I continue on this path (of study of the IC) and if I put this knowledge to good use (in an ethical way) I will harvest great benefits.

If any you with more experience and knowledge would like to share their thoughts with me about this reading I'd love to hear it.

Hi Flitzer,

What a cool exchange. I don’t have any experience with the 2.1.2.>19 combination myself, and it seems personal to your relationship with Yi, but here's a few thoughts:

The W/B I Image commentary kind of sums up 19 to me here. It reads, “the sage is inexhaustible in his readiness to teach mankind” and “the sage sustains and cares for all people” which could easily be attributed just to Yi. Yet, it’s your reading, so I think Yi is also affirming that you and Yi are in sync that way. Meaning it’s a reflection of your own inner attributes as well. So, Yi is maybe saying, in a way, “stick with me kid, and we’ll go places” as a way of replying "you're welcome."

2.1.2: imo, Yi also noting, "of course, stay on point with being mindful about keeping your eye on the ball (line 1) and staying true to your nature (line 2) ."

I look at 2.1 as the beginning of the seasonal crystallization of what was green, fluid and blossoming, just days before.

2.2 attains its depth and dimension, and things seem to get done by themselves. Evolving beyond Flatland, such as "it looks good on paper, but will it fly?" With no up or down, why would anyone want to fly? Line 2 expands to 3-D: not as a mere effect but actualization of the Creative.

Thank you Iams and Meng for your replies. I think we all concur that the answer seems to say that there is great potential there, ready to be realized, but that all depends on what I am going to do with it.

Up to me to make the best of it.
