Hi,
I mentioned this theoretically in a post a few days ago, now am asking how others would interpret receiving 1 with no changing lines in response to a question about doing something--I either worded the question, "What aboout..." Or maybe, "What will be the effect of ..."
I have the idea that when I receive hexagram 1 unchanging it is an affirmation--but wanted to see how others relate to it.
Thanks and Peace,
Maya

It is quite positive as you have the energy to do/complete what you are asking about.

It's a fundamentally good idea: the energy, creativity and inspiration are all there. The resources, the opening, the right time and place... those might be harder to come by. But if an idea can't be put into practice right away, that doesn't make it a bad one.

I received it today for my task (guiding counsel). I take it as full speed ahead and get things done, being wary of that top line. When I receive no moving lines I read every line and try to keep them in mind during the day. But I think it is all about 'make hay while the sunshines', i.e moving out in a forward direction. In a day or two I might get 23 or 12 and then regret I didn't take care of things while the time was ripe.

hex 01 is both positive and negative.

CH'IEN: spirit power, creative and destructive; unceasing forward motion; dynamic, enduring, untiring; firm, stable; heaven, soverign, father; also: dry-up, parched, exhausted, cleared away. The ideogram: sprouts or vapors rising from the ground and sunlight, both fecundating moisture and scortching drought." ERANOS p94

Its GENERAL nature is then customised by you in relating it to the local context.

Behaviourally it covers competitive exchange, skill refinement through that exchange (one engages and re-engages the context in a competitive way to aid in refining one's skills - it is like the samurai perpetually training to refine/maintain skills. Tune it down a bit and we cover hex 10 or hex 13 etc the latter with its focus on associating with the 'likeminded' but as individuals -one retains ones sense of identity etc)

Its infrastructure is described by the generic qualities of 28 - excess, too much yang ;-)
