Hi,
Has anyone read "The I Ching in Tokugawa Thought and Culture"? If so two questions

a) general thoughts on the book
b) Some input regarding especially chapter 9. What does it include ie. divination examples, or how Yijing was used to understand medicine theory?

Thanks

Togan

You are not missing much. My essay was a commented translation of one of the chapters that had to do with Buddhism and the I Ching in the Tokugawa era. Not what you are looking for. Good book to have though. Not much material is available in Western languages about the influence the Yijing had in Japanese life. I suggest you buy it.

Cheers,

Luis
