First of all, I would like to thank you for very good and helpful answers...
More to my previous readings later.

But my question about relationship that's been rocky these days
was Does X want to be with me in a relationship?
and received 32.4 to 46...

Well Ashteroid gave me reply to similar hexagram already but different question..
He hasn't called yet but there are signs he put off his initial hard reaction

Does this line mean a NO for a relationship?

32 is permanence but 4 is lack of such?

Sorry innertruth but I read that as a 'no'.

The phrase 'no game in the field' could be taken in a number of ways:
-- He feels there's nothing that he wants from you.
-- There's nothing there for you.
-- He is not playing games - what you see is what you get, i.e. he's not pretending.
-- He's playing the field, i.e. looking for other other women, but currently can't find any.

I'm sure there could be more ways to see that phrase.
But in short, he's not after you I'm afraid.
If he does come back to you, it will be because he found nobody else for now.

What he wants might not be so relevant you know.
What one wants, and what one does, are often two different things.

I'm thinking of the examples of two particular guys, close friends of mine.
Guy A doesn't want to be with K, and he's always looking around. However, he's been with her for 5 years.
Guy B doesn't want to be with E, but he did marry her and they have a child.

A lot depends on one's age as well, and what stage they feel they're at in their lives.
That goes for guys, as well as for women.
We can't have the same criteria of choosing as when we were 20 unfortunately
And most people learn how to compromise successfully.
So, perhaps don't write him off just on account of what he doesn't want - let's see what he will do (regardless of the reasons behind his actions).

I felt so much better after reading your thoughts.
You are right. Nothing in life is what it seems.
And nothing is an indicator of anything...
Those examples you gave are just so illustrative..
I am happy you wrote this. Because inside that's what I feel like doing too. We just need to have some patience

32.4 may mean a lack of opportunity, for you, with this guy , in this situation. It is sterile, there's nothing there, and you can feel that , inwardly. (I don't know if the "no game" is permanent or temporary).
OR: the Iching could also be reflecting back your question. You are asking about another person's feelings. Maybe the "no game" means that this kind of question is not a fertile one, since you can't know another's heart directly.
In either case
46 as the relating hexagram gives you assurance that you are building your character and rising towards your destiny. Seeing the great man: aspire higher, to find that ideal, within yourself and your relationship, and you will be happy with how things are.

If I received that, I would take it as a no.
(I knew a woman who was a joy to be around.
She had a great way of connecting with everyone around her and making them feel, well for lack of a better word, loved.
I asked about relationship potential. The answer was 32.4.
Then, over the next few months she told me that her husband had passed away a few years prior, and that she would never be in another relationship because she was married to him for eternity. And I believed her.)

Hmm got me thinking even more..
I love Yi, it turns out to be the most intricate thing in th world...
I think Yi never directly answers the question we pose in a way expected.
As Oracle, it sees picture from different angle and sometimes you need to really GET that angle before situation passes...
But how...
I mean...it is certainly includes factors X that we dont know at the moment so it gives answer with regard to all factors included??
There is no single line , same outcome for readings...
