I spent my afternoon in the emergency room waiting to get my knee e-rayed. I was supposed to have it replaced 3 yrs. ago but was afraid to because I almost died after having my hip replaced(was in surgery 13 hrs.)so I aksed and received the Youthful Folly hex no lines. Why would youthful folly have anything to do with asking "What would be the outcome if I have this knee surgery?"
So I repeated the Q and received the Marrying Maiden hex which stated about one who has a lame leg but manages to tramp along(that was so appropo)!!! but I'n at a loss as to whether or not Ching is saying to get the surgery. Anybody please?

Hi Candida
Sounds pretty fightenning... Hope all is well.

Youthfull folly is also the spring emerging from under the montain - (see the trigrams) - I am often not sure with this Hx. whether it is scolding me of giving me the image of a fresh new beginning... I suspect the latter might fit more given what you have said.

All the best

Candida - 4 can simply mean "prepare to learn." It isn't always a reprimand or even a correction. As Kevin stated, the trigrams shows a spring emerging from the mountain. This is like a new beginning. At first you don't know which way to go, but after receiving more information, the spring makes its way toward its destiny, always true to its original nature.

This may not be a comforting answer but I believe this matter will become more evident in time, especially if you remain open and teachable.

At least that?s been my experience with it.

I think Candid hits the mark: "prepare to learn". Could it be that the Yi advises you to find out more about knees, about surgery on knees, try to find experiences of others who had it and so on? I know that surgery on knees can be very difficult, and sometimes with disappointing results. I hope I am not frightening you, I just have the feeling that it should be good to know more.
Did 54 give you moving lines? They might say more about what to 'do'.

Hi gang,
Thanks for all the info and insight. LiSe asked if 54 gave any moving lines, but it did not. I kinda think that kevin and Candid are right on track cause I always try to find the ins and outs of any surgery after that nightmare hip surgery I had; I don't leave any info unturned. Hopefully I will get better and better at figuring out the Yi's messages and I will keep ya all informed to know what I decide to do (about knee) about surgery in December.
