Hi everyone,

Recently I've been getting into semi-modular synthesis however I don't have a musical background at all. Recently my dad passed away and I inherited his guitars, amp, ukulele and loop station. I like guitars so I'm soon going to some free guitar classes. However I decided to get into modular synthesis as I feel that integrating the guitar through the synths might be really cool.

I bought some boxes, a soundcard, a midi controller and a few synths and other utilities to get started. However as I do not have experience with music theory, sound design or hardware I've been wondering where this will take me.

I do not plan on becoming a professional musician, I mostly just want to explore and have fun. I'm watching youtube tutorials to learn how the synths work, along with that I'll learn about sound design and musical theory once my mind has made more space (grieving takes a lot of energy!)

My question is, what are the chances of developing myself musically (aka being able to produce something I personally enjoy)

Well it looks like it's more of a self-reflective thing since the line is to do with going one's own way after possibly trying to follow other's ways. If you play music you will develop of course but it looks like eventually it takes you back to you. It doesn't look a picture of joining with others but of following your own route with it.
