Dear friends,

I just don't get this reading. I asked "what should I do regarding my social life?" and received 7.4.5.6 to 6... Any help out there?

Thank you!

Seems a little vague, though you could intentionally be referring to a specific, and we don't know the context which could change the meaning.

If I had to give you a reading based on that question alone, and those hexagrams, I'd tell you to make a friend in an organization and be a follower until accepted.

With more information, could give a more detailed response. Just study the hexgrams as the current situation, and the lines as the context for how it will change from 7 into 6, 6 being the end result of possible events based on the lines.

It sounds there's lots of arguing in your immediate social circle at the moment.
This friction is ongoing, and its nature sounds as if repeating itself, continuing
just when everyone thought it was settled. It doesn't sound to me as if it's you
who's causing it, but someone else (of course i could be wrong in this, just a
guess).

7:4 shows that you have either already tried to avoid all this, by retreating;
or that this should be a good first step. Retreat, in order to show others that
you truly do not like conflict and battle.
7:5 - it sounds to me as if they're not going to let you out of this so easily.
The problem is real, and it will come up again, and you will be involved. At
this stage, you will need to take energetic action, right a wrong, be strict
and do your best to take the initiative to solve this.
7:6 - once all this is done and dusted, make sure that the lesson is learned,
and that petty people should not be given any 'power'. Don't encourage
potentially argumentative and troublesome people to come back in your
immediate social environment.

6 - It sounds like you really have to part company with those troublesome
friends, or in any case make sure the conflict stops.

If there are no arguments in your immediate social environment, then
the whole answer could refer to an inner conflict, and that would make for
a more 'internal' reading.
