We've got us and a bit of money and we'll have to cut our cloth accordingly.

Your daughter is learning so much from seeing how you turn every situation around using only the strength of your beliefs.

Hello All, finally some good news. Today there was a breakthrough on the housing and medical fronts.

I've called the fellow who's doing up the flat in town four or five times over a six weeks or so. He kept saying he was selling some property and didn't have time to keep the tradesmen coming along. So I offiered last time we spoke to do the sub-contracting for him if need be. He just laughed -- the half-humorous offer apparently struck his funny bone -- anyway he finally got moving on finishing the work. A few days ago he offered to show me the place, which I saw today. He quoted me a reasonable rent and, all things being equal, it is mine the first of May. What a complete relief. I can't even say how much of a relief. And it's not a bad little place either. Totally the opposite of what I was doing, centre of a slightly dilapidated tourist town, but lovely people there and everything close to hand. It's probably what you'd called a "bolt hole," and in terms of trimming expense to a minimum, I don't think I'll do much better than this. CENTRAL HEAT, I love the very words although I won't need it again now until September/October.

Even better, my daughter got a much improved report at the doctor's this morning. She's making tentative plans to move to the city with friends and do her legal research assistanceship from there. She needs better facilities for her research and to be close enough to an airport to get to conferences, etc, easily. Also, she's young and really needs the social life and I just hope she's well enough to go in a month or so when flat-shares are opening up.

So, two big breakthroughs and I'll just keep praying.

Work is a different story but the news that my job is being phased out is only two days old and I've got until the end of June. Several people have recommended I turn my radio broadcast hobby into employment -- but I'm not sure how to do that. It is a wonderful pastime and I'd find employment there ideal, so I'll give it more thought. And I gave it a casting besides:

I asked, what is the possibility of my radio interest becoming paid work?

The reply: Hexagram 43 unchanging?

This calls for making a decision? There seem to be lots of cautions in Hex 43 and the lines aren't all that positive either, the best of them saying something like: no misfortune. Hmmm. There's not funding for paid work there right now, but great hopes of improvement since we just took over a larger commercial station [we are a station of almost entirely volunteers]. Still, that's no guarantee and I need different work soon.

You're thinking someone would oppose your wish to get paid, but in reality that's not true. If you decide to ask for money, there would be no one opposed to your getting paid to do this.
