Hi All,

I asked Yi what a good spiritual practice would be for me right now -- 56.4>52. I'd like some input on what this could mean. Traveling to Stilling is an interesting cast to me... As I've talked about in several other posts, I spent my summer traveling and decided to settle in a new city in September. I'll be traveling home for the holidays as well-- but I don't see how this translates into a specific action. This response seems to be more of a portrait of my current situation rather than an answer to my question.

Any ideas?

Are you liking the city you're currently in? I've received this line before when my attitude needed adjusting. So if you're not too keen on the place you're living now, it suggests to make the best of it & bid your time for better opportunity in the future.

Hi leighd,

"What spiritual practice would be good for me right now?"

56.4 to 52 ~ What you seek cannot be found by traveling, but rather through stillness.

I recommend a practice of meditation combined with a good inner-space guidebook ~ I like "The Untethered Soul" ~ it's clear and straightforward. While it might not end up being the practice you eventually settle on, it can only help you in your quest, imho.

Many Blessings!

Hi radio,

I read and loved The Surrender Experiment, so I know your recommendation is a good one. I've actually looked for it a couple of time at B&N, but it's always sold out. Maybe I"ll order off Amazon instead. I've been looking for the next book to start the new year.

Thanks!

make yourself at home.

Moss Elk,

Just wanted to follow up and tell you that your words are becoming a bit of a mantra for me regarding this reading... Make yourself at home. I've begun to realize an inner resistance to settling in my current apartment, but also that the whirlwind of moving to a new place is settling, and I think now I can start more consciously building a life here (taking the classes I want to take, for example.)

Thanks again!

I have had this casting several times over the past 8 years....especially when I am dithering, feeling like a piece of flotsam in the sea or a stick in the river. Travelling along, desperate to find something, but being carried along by the current - not being in control. I need to get into an eddy, go into a cove and rest or watch the scenery and think where I want to go.....Once I was literally on a river in a canoe and had 5 options - which one? It was grade 3 river, and the first option was a definite no, and I could not see where the other routes took me - I found that I could not see beyond the outcrop. Dodgy. The others had gone on - I felt alone and wanting help.

A really experienced dude came along behind me - a level 5 kayak coach - I knew him. He said - that all the options were hazardous, with the conditions and that I had been wise to consider.... he said that there was another option..get out and triage the canoe backstream...Breathe he said, think, consider, and meditate. In my quest for travelling downriver, I had forgotten that I could rest, get out, and still myself.

I actually contemplated and decided to head off with this coach - in his path, but the option of stilling meant that my downward path was far clearer. Had I headed off on my own, and not waited for someone to come along and present me with other options, the outcome may not have been beneficial at all. When I get this casting, I think of Jules and his words and heading down that river...

Somehow though the inaction of stillness provides the means for action....so being still and paying attention is part of the action.

It doesn't. It translates into inaction. And mindfulness.
Being still and paying attention is what 52 means.

52 is probably my most received hex of the past several months. I've probably cast it 7 or more times. I find inaction to be a difficult for me because I'm naturally a more inactive person and can become reclusive and depressed if I'm not being inactive in a productive (word choice?) way. It makes sense for me in terms of meditation and my question though.
