What Kind Of Party IS This?

Long story short, got invited to an event on Friday night I'm assuming is a party, then found out I'm the only guest. So, what else, of course I asked the YI:

What is the motive for this invitation?

Answer: Hexagram 44.5.6 becoming Hexagram 32.

OK. Hexagram 32 -- maybe entertainment via solid state stereo? The best of intentions but forgets to defrost the chicken?

OF COURSE we have to have Hexagram 44, that is a given these days, follows me everywhere. Hex 44.5.6 - dessert is Melon served a la Horn?

Suffice it say, there will be no more heirs in MY future anyway.

Boy, am I sick of casting Hex 44.

Joking aside, I was just reading LiSe on Hexagram 32 and came across her discussion of the relatedness of 31 and 32 and "Fixing the Omen," and wanted to put it here.

Fixing the omen

31 and 32 are inseparable. 31, an influence accompanied by respect: both respect for the other person (or other influence), and also respect for your own dedication to it, taking it really seriously, will initialize a sacred (lasting, true, rich) structure.

And 32: a structure can be made solid and lasting through an endless repeating of this original act of influence: giving it a deep imprint, changing your paradigm for good. Repeating it makes the imprint, but a changed paradigm will also cause it to be repeated endlessly in the rest of your life, whenever there is a need for it.

When you consult the oracle with respect (taking its answer seriously, not asking superficial questions, not bending the answer towards your own wishes, not limiting it to human time), then you create a sacred base for your own tao.

You fix the omen by making it part of your soul, so that when you need a solution for a comparable situation, you know. Your soul immediately gives the right answer - like someone who has trained himself and can use his skill in many different situations.

Hilary, in a mail: “Stephen Covey says that what you do comes from your personal paradigm, and if you try to change the routine without changing the paradigm, sooner or later the original patterns will come back. When I asked Yi how to fix its answers, it said 31, unchanging. If this means making a permanent, new place for the influence to enter, it actually starts to make sense.”

I found that a quite profound thought so wanted to highlight it, as well as add it to this interpretation. Yes, that's what I am thinking, the paradigm is being changed, the context is moving on and this is a beginning of wanting that. I thought that might be the case, but never would have explained my instinct so clearly as LiSe has done here.

I remember getting this reading about a meeting which had nothing of that nature, but did involve me being overly suspicious and self-protective . . I still haven't figured out if I was right to be so or not, most probably my anxiety was a bit over the top though . . keeping myself calm and collected helped me out of it unscathed . .

I do think this is intended as a party for two, but not an ambush, so I'm not suspicious, just a bit surprised to realise that times have changed when i wasn't looking. I do think calm and collected is wise, no matter what the intention. It will be a very interesting evening, no doubt.
