What must I do to make the best job interview possible? 44uc

Dear Community,

I've been invited for a job interview and I have some time to prepare for it. I asked the oracle "What must I do to make the best job interview possible?" and got 44uc

Usually, I get 44 in highly emotionally charged situations, as when I feel something is "not right", but the attraction is indeed too strong. I always take it as cautionary advice to disengage or at least, to be prepared for the unpredictable chaos which will be brought.

But in this case, I asked about how to prepare myself to give my best for the interview. 44uc? Should I bring then chaos and creativity to my performance? Should I fancy ideas which resonate with 44? I'm a bit baffled.

The Image - which is often the key advice from a hexagram - says the superior man looks at a situation from all angles without getting sucked in. I see this as advising you to approach the interview as a chance for them to find out about you as well as a chance for you to find out about them. Perhaps it is also advising you to find out all you can about the work before the interview so as to demonstrate you know already what is required and can demonstrate that you would be able to handle the job.

This is not a favourable reading, especially as it's unchanging. I believe it tells you more about them, than about you - they're dangerous.

However... hypothetically... if this is trying to describe what you need to do, then be careful not to appear as a temporary 'shag'. Know your value, and your worth, do not accept to be downgraded as a temporary person that one can 'love' and leave.

I'm also thinking the image which says, "Thus does the prince act when disseminating his commands and proclaiming them to the four quarters of heaven," could mean that they have invited a number of people to interview - disseminated and proclaimed their job search far and wide! - and so it might be smart to consider how you could stand out - walk in wearing a memorable face mask perhaps?

Or maybe you are the prince disseminating your resume to the four quarters of heaven. Are you going to be interviewed by several people?

@rosada the interview will be made for a committee. And I can assume there are other candidates interested to. I'm taking the advice as the image and doing my best, but somehow I feel inside scared of being more into the 44 experiences I had. To probe into the direction @diamanda , i asked the oracle:

"What is the image of my true happiness if I get the position?"

Is seems bad for the present and good for the future. I will bump into enemies, jealousy, strive. But then will be rescued by something external, an idea or someone. And all will bring radical change or i will be required to change to conform.

I'm still struggling to connect these with the 44uc. When do you guys feel that the oracle is not answering your question as you formulated, but saying "look, the answer to this question is not important. what is important is..."

I think it's saying you wont feel so uneasy once you get acquainted.

Thanks for the Insight, @rosada. I have then divination which says It will be good to work there. (3.3.4>49) So I would take the bad omen feeling from the 44uc. But I'm still struggling to understand how can 44uc be related to the way I must prepare myself for the interview.

Meanwhile, 44 as advice for preparing for the interview describes a time of looking about without getting pulled in. Think of the story of Odysseus who had himself chained to the ship's mast as they sailed by the sirens' island so as not to be tempted by their hypnotic songs. I think it's just a reminder that while they are checking you out, you can be alert to see if what they have to offer is really what you want.

I checked my readings, I only had 44 for an interview once. My question was how will the interview go. So what happened was, the job included invigilation during student exams, and they asked me how I would perform that. I answered that I would follow the university's policy and follow their rules, they told me they didn't have a policy (!?). After that question I could see they didn't want me. Plus, 2 out of 4 in the panel were quite rude and 'sour' people. So in conclusion, I'm not sure you will like that workplace.

Hi I would like to give a follow up of the job interview:

I read the call and prepared myself accordingly. The interview was for a committee with around 8 people and this really got me nervous, specially the Zoom thing.

At the end I failed to communicate well. The biggest problem is that they were expecting someone who would be an expert in several areas, but this was not clear on the job description. Instead, I focused solely on what I thought it was the main responsibility of the job and ignored the rest.

So when I analyse this with the 44uc in mind, as @rosada mentioned "says the superior man looks at a situation from all angles without getting sucked in." it seems that I ignored the other angles needed for the job, and got sucked in showing the competence I thought it was the most central for the position.

At the end, i didn't get the job.

Hi Rogi I hope this won't dishearten you as it sounds like you weren't really at fault. Many times I've been for job interviews, including Zoom, and realised they too had failed to inform me of certain aspects of the job.
