What result with relationship? 48.2.5 --> 15

So, I went out on a date last week with a guy with whom I had immediate chemistry. But it's still early days; we are supposed to meet again today, and of course we are each seeing other people, too. I felt that on the date, we were both somewhat guarded (we each have a lot of Scorpio in our astrological charts ), and I wonder if it is possible for us to get past that. Again, it is still early, but I feel there is significant potential here...

I asked the I Ching: "What result if I pursue this relationship?"

I got 48.2.5 --> 15

My interpretation is that there is great potential here for emotional intimacy (48.5) but we are not accessing that (48.2). I have to find a way to draw on this source, and persist in trying to establish a significant emotional connection (15).

What do you all think?

I think that you just about nailed it but would say that to me 15 is about authenticity. In 48.2 everything's there but it is a bit damaged and out of synch. I suppose there is a risk of self-interest eclipsing the possibility of 48.5 but time will tell. You seem to have a good sense of your lines anyway.

It appears to me that it is just a matter of getting past a few glitches that are caused more by fear than by any real trouble. Time for soul searching for yourself to see yourself a little more deeply and understand exactly what you have to bring to the table, and how you can work on yourself to be the right kind of person.

I'd appreciate anyone's insights on Hexagram 15 in the context of a relationship; reading the archives, there is a strong theme of Hexagram 15 as balancing. It is the hexagram that makes full what was empty, etc. I'm not exactly what that means here, but I think it is positive, in that understanding between us will increase.

Hello Sam (forgive me for shortening the name but I don't want to misspell it.)

Hexagram 15 has a lot to do with working well with others. it has to do with proper attitudes towards others. It's linear opposite is hexagram 10 which has to do with working with others but in the context of a hierarchy. One must be careful not to overstep one's boundaries when working with superiors. In 15 there is no superior nor inferior, it examines the "equal" importance (and nonimportance) of all people. That all people should be treated with respect. We humble ourselves when we recognize the value in others as well as ourselves. Therefore, one aspect of the message is making ourselves equal, (but not above, {or below} anyone else.) So in this reading it could have the message of working together as a pair that honors and respects each other.

It suggests that this relationship will never go very far as your new friend does not seem to have his heart in the work at all, it all seems so superficial with no depth, as his mind seems to be on loftier goals.
The potential is here but the spirit is lacking so decay must set in sooner or later.
