Hi there

I am feeling so tired lately.

In the last two years I have started a course in order to get a good foundation to start my own coaching practice.
I paid a lot of money for that course and I have been combining it with a fulltime job in order to pay for it. Meanwhile I try to take on clients whenever I can. I am close to finishing the first year of my two year course and I feel exhausted. In the last 6 months I've had covid, moved house, changed jobs, struggled with a knee infection... it's all been way to much for me. The new job should have been a better fit but it's been very stressfull with much more administration then they told me which is just not my thing. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed... starting up my own practice never seemed so far away. I know I am making important progress in my personal development and I know I am taking important steps. The new job and the expensive course just feel sometimes like they are side tracking me from starting my own practice instead of supporting me. I know it's only human to be tired with everything I have on my plate right now...

I hope to gain some perspective from the I Ching in this matter.

What should be my focus right now professionally? Hex 35 uc

Sums up really nice what is going on. I am making great progress, establishing a firm foundation for my future plans... I read somewhere 'green light all the way'. Sure doesn't feel like it at the moment o_O

I would appreciate your insights!

Hi dancingfox,

Rem here. Sharing my insights on your reading.

Professionally, you must focus on what is already having a momentum (H35), and you'll know this because you can already see it clearly moving (Fire above), like a wheel (Earth below, traditionally associated with wheel), as if you are riding on a bicycle, which doesn't necessarily mean to be too fast as long as it is moving; it moves because it also moves you emotionally (motion, that is), and inspires and motivates you to act on it, and you can show more of your gifts and you can see how creative and productive you are in doing it, something that drives and energizes you all day long, almost everyday.

I hope this helps.

Cheers and good luck!

The usual assumption when getting an unchanging hexagram is that one only reads the Judgement and the Image. However I get value from also reading all the lines as that deepens my understanding of the hexagram's unchanging message. 35 unchanging appears to promise easy progress and green lights all the way, but when you read the lines a different story emerges describing the difficulties one comes up against when trying to progress, and the steps one should take to surmount them and thus the ultimate advice in the Image is that one does not wait for a prince or some other higher up to acknowledge us but rather the Superior Man hinself brightens his bright virtue. In short, hex 35 is about how to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. As you say your key motivation for taking this class - and the work you are doing to pay for it - is your desire to start your own coaching practice, I'm wondering if receiving this hexagram is a message from the Universe to pay attention to what steps you take to pull those boot straps as this will be the real life experience you need to be able to coach others to assist them in their own progressing.

Also 35 can be a prompt to Count Your Blessings and See Them Multiply.

Hi Rem

Thanks for getting the image of 35 clear for me. Visualising hexagrams helps me a great deal with interpreting them. If I look at 35 like a burning wheel driven by what moves me... Then I can see how that applies to illuminating my talents and succesess, not in grand kind of way but driven by a steady day to day monumentum, if that makes sense :) I can keep on going because I can feel I am on the right track when it comes to using my talents and gifts, and this is deeply important for me.

Hi Rosada

Ah... Pulling myself up by my own bootstraps, yes! The green lights are not anywhere near me right now but the bootstraps certainly are 😂

And yes the steps I have already taken have had a transformational effect on my life. I am making notes of the steps I have taken and working them out in a structure in my coaching practice. Since I am so much emerged in my own journey right now it doesn't always feel like I am progressing.

Counting my blessings, there is an exercise for me. I can feel more gratitude, day by day but I have lived in survival mode for a very long time. It's all slowly coming together. Accepting that it's a process, certainly now when I feel a bit overwhelmed.

Glad to hear this, dancingfox! Yes, it seems your journey is a steadier momentum, not slow but not too fast either, and you can feel that very much in your bones! I am intending the best in your right track, and your talents and gifts to flourish more! :giggle:

I don't know if you are familiar with the tarot? It's my old time favorite divination tool... I am also working to incorporating divination into my practice. But that's a different story 😊

Its just that 35 uc reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune. Like the Wheel in the tarot it signals great progress but adjustments have to be made in order to flourish. Count your blessings amidst constant change!

O yes I do! Some of my friends are Tarot readers, too. Interestingly, we have discovered mutually how the insight from Tarot and I Ching always resonate. For sure you can discover fascinating intersection between them.

Amen to H35uc as Wheel of Fortune! Oh yes, I can imagine as well. Which reminds me right now of an old insight I have on the word fortune (which I also relate to the phrase "Good Fortune" in the Yijing text). In my native language Filipino, it's translated as kapalaran, and the root word is "palad", which literally means "palm of the hand". After all, our fortune is rally in our hands. And counting our blessings/gratitude itself is one of the many ways to create fortune! 😊

In my experience, to read an unchanging hexagram is very difficult, due to its apparently static nature. There is a second approach to getting to the same result, so to speak, in this case to hexagram 35uc. It may help clarify the idea of the unchanging hexagram. It is observing the last lines of the complementary hexagram.

My humble take on this is that you have to pull through the last part of hex 5, which is the complementary hexagram to hex 35.

(Wilhelm Hex5 line 6)
"One falls into the pit.
Three uninvited guests arrive.
Honor them, and in the end there will be good fortune."

It could mean, get it it together and honor the three guests, the full time job, the course and the planning of your practice. That way you will abandon this waiting and get to the hexagram 35.

Hi Rem

isn't it wonderful when all of the images and symbolism fall together like a beautiful puzzle?

Hi Hermit

This interpretation really hits home. Patience is a virtue I have yet to master and adapting a different attitude about my current situation... well again a great opportunity for personal growth :)
