Background:
My mother, whom I am close to, and I have been working towards getting her house ready to sell. She is elderly and not in great health. We have been working towards preparing to leave for about six or seven months now. We have been getting rid of clothing, household items, furniture - anything she did not need or want anymore and things she wouldn’t need after she moves. She is going to move in with me. I am fine with this and welcome the opportunity to spend time with her in this way (both in sorting through things and her moving in with me.).

We were just weeks away from listing - planning on listing in the next couple of weeks, no later than the end of June. A week ago, I had to take her to the hospital and she was admitted and had emergency surgery to remove a bad gallbladder. She is doing well but needless to say she will not be able to continue any efforts herself towards the move. She will be in hosptial a few more days then to a skilled nursing facility for up to 20 days. There is no doubt that she wants to continue this process forward and if anything this surgery solidifies the need for her not to live by herself anymore.

Because I am always probably overly cautious, I asked the I Ching what should I do about this house. My thoughts while asking the question only involved going forward with selling the house. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything that I needed to know or that maybe we should not move forward at this time.

the I Ching gave me hexagram 18.2.3 changing to 23. Work on what has decayed >> splitting apart. I am interpreting this answer as continue moving forward towards the sale, continue to fix any identified problems we had listed, and do all of this expeditiously. And hexagram 23 splitting apart to me indicated leaving the house.

does anyone have an alternative view of 18 changing to 23? Am I looking at this correctly?
thank you in advance
Lana

Me, too, read it as leaving the house (23), because of your mother who can't keep on living in it (18.2) and other less important problems (18.3).
