What will happen if I contact her? Hexagram 40 > 32

I had several dreams over the course of a year about someone I was romantically and spiritually connected to several years ago (a first love). The dreams became more detailed and difficult to ignore over time. I didn't know what to think about it and eventually last week did an I Ching divination and received hexagram 40, with future hexagram 32. I have owned a copy of the I Ching for 15 years but never done a divination before now. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Can you give us your own impression of it's meaning?

I am new to I Ching divination - as my question is about a potential future action I interpret the present hexagram as being what could happen if I took the action, and the future hexagram is what the potential exists for even further in the future. I don't know if that is the case or not though.
With regards to the hexagrams themselves some things I have read resonated with me: for hexagram 40 I noticed it said not to dwell in the past. This made me feel somewhat relieved, because it seemed that the I Ching had given me a clear message to forget these dreams. It said that it means a great release - an untying of knot and escape from a hostile fate, to be liberated from fear.
However when I read hexagram 32 I noticed some have connected it to marriage, and that it means a time of natural harmony and stability after the great release of hexagram 40. This sort of stunned me. This made me reconsider the meaning of hexagram 40 and consider that it is indicating to take the potential action, rather than not take the action. It seems to me that it is indicating something potentially positive from the universe in the event that I took this potential action. However I understand these readings are very complex, multi-faceted, and need a lot of contemplation. Would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts.
