hello community i did a reading from where all my problems in my life come from i cant understand the thread ..of course the problem is mine something about the details i can understand.. but im an overthinker of details which i now it is bad..i decided to do psychotherapy but it will be a little latte because my psychotherapist isnt in my home town so i have to wait a little days..

im i an already arrogant person? i cant understand it beacause thebrruth is that im a person who feels guilty about everything.. and i get oppresed with that and maybe then sometimes im so hard with others and myself..

thank you

62. Attention to Detail - 27. Nourishment.

Both these hexagrams suggest you tend to be a bit lax about fulfilling your obligations, particularly when it comes to finishing up the details. Do not "nourish" yourself thinking too much about people or problems. Instead get active doing whatever you can to make whatever you are doing just a little bit nicer - especially when it comes to bringing things to completion.

Hi SkyCat,

In response to your question, I found myself focusing on the two lines in Hexagram 62 that were not in your reading. This may not typically be the way to interpret a reading, but this is what I kept being drawn to ponder. First, let's look at a brief summary of the 4 lines included in your reading:

62.1.3.4.6

Hexagram 62 focuses on paying attention to the small things, which in the context of your description seems to be overthinking things. The hexagram implies that it is okay to pay attention to small things, but not okay to pay too much attention. These lines also imply that the attention paid to these small things would not produce anything that will actually take flight. The hexagram offers the image of a bird descending in flight. It's better for these ideas to descend than to ascend. So, if these small things (ideas) would not take flight, it is not appropriate to spend too much time on them (overthink). The answer to your question seems to be that your overthinking may be turning small things into big things when they were never meant to be big issues. And I think that this is energy that is better spent developing your spiritual side. Perhaps this imbalance (overthinking) implies a lack of attention to what your heart and intuition are saying. This could be the "heart" of the problem - pun intended. More on this below as it relates to Hexagram 27: Nourishment.

As for the lines that were not mentioned in your reading, lines 2 and 5 both seem to suggest a person who understands that the little things should not warrant that much of your attention. Line two talks about a person who does not force her position or get ahead of herself. Line 5 talks about a ruler who seeks helps and meets his goal. The absence of these lines seems to imply that you are getting ahead of yourself, and that you need to focus on overcoming this with help. You did mention that your psychotherapist was not in town and you posed this question because you could not wait a few days. So, it makes sense that you would not get these two lines.

In line 2, the subject passes by the ruler (intellect) to meet with the minister (the heart or intuition). The absence of this line might imply that you are not focusing on what your intuition and heart are saying. My suggestion would be to develop your spiritual intellect to balance your overthinking. Have you considered this? Perhaps as you develop your spiritual intelligence you can further explore the connections between your feelings of guilt and how hard you are on yourself and others. Perhaps the overthinking leads to you being overly-critical and this makes you feel guilty.

In line 5, the subject gets help and accomplishes his goal. The absence of this line seems to imply that you might be trying too hard to solve it on your own. You have help, lean on that support.

All of these thoughts led me, quite naturally, to Hexagram 27: Nourishment. This hexagram implies that you must pay attention to what you are feeding. I think it implies that you are feeding your intellect too much with the overthinking, but need to feed your heart and intuition to be more well-balanced. In this context, the focus is not so much on not overthinking, but on spending time contemplating spiritual matters by listening to your heart and intuition. I love the possibility that a solution could also be found in spending more time listening to your heart rather than just focusing on spending time trying to figure out how to think less. It's about balance, and will likely take both approaches.

My summary thought is two-fold as it focuses on well-balanced nourishment of both mind and spirit: feed/build your spiritual intelligence by first listening more to you own heart and intuition; and continue with the help you are receiving from your psychotherapist in this matter.
