I really need some help here as I am facing a few tough decisions regarding my career. I am currently working as a freelance for a couple of firms, both of which present with a possibility of a partnership in the near future. I can remain working as a freelance or try to explore moving up the ladder with one of them. I don't know which path I should explore (if any) so I asked tonight (having in mind the partnership):
1. What if I go down the GH route? responce Hex 16.2.5.6 to 6
2. What if I go down the G&G route? responce Hex 47 unchanging

Neither seems particularly positive to me, perhaps the answer in hex 16 is to stay put for a while? Im a little puzzled with the changing lines, maybe I should ask what if I just stay working as a freelance??

Any comments and help greatly appreaciated!

Yes you might as about staying as a freelancer too, because you really do have three paths not two.

Neither reading actually seems negative to me - they just talk about the different structure that working for a larger entitity imposes on your creativity.

With 16=>6, it seems to be suggesting that the ideas in your mind of what you would bring to the company might be different from the ideas they have. Take care that you are really evaluating the actual opportunity, not just the opportunity you imagine, which could just be your own enthusiastic dream. The difficulties of the changing lines, especially 5&6 point to how enthusiasms actually need difficulties/challenges to amount to anything lasting. Otherwise they just evaporate.

With 47, LiSe's interpretation is helpful - she calls it "Enclosed Tree" not "Oppression". In your case, it's suggesting I think that the second company would be a place that would provide a strong, even rigid, structure. The crucial question for you there is could you use that structure to support/nurture your unique gift and contribution (would it provide a safe haven for your creativity to grow?) or would it cut you off from yourself? The Superior Man (or Woman) stakes her life on following her Will.

Finally, not IC related, but an important consideration in all cases of freelancing, is that when you're a freelancer, you're ALWAYS looking for a job, always lining up the next customer, sale or project. With a company, you're not. The security of a company is (usually) more illusory than it seems, but it's still important to realize that it fundamentally shifts your work energy away from constant marketing to responding to a more given flow of opportunities/challenges.

Good luck!

Dear Willow, thank you so so much for the imput. The enclosed tree sounds more positive than oppression! In an attempt to clarify things I have asked two further questions relating to increasing some hours as a freelance for both companies and I got:

What if I accept more work from G&G: Hex 44.5 to 50
What if I accept more work from GH: Hex 36.2 to 11

Both answers to me sound like either one could be a reasonable path to follow but who knows... G&G in any case is likely to expect more firm results (and offer more rigid structure), GH is more relaxed but the financial rewards may not be as good and I really need to improve my financial situation...

So which is the best path in your view???

I'd retain both clients as a freelancer or agency. Outsourcing is probably a benefit to each during this crunch, and unless there's a professional conflict of interest, there's no reason you should be restricted from serving other clients. Plus, you'd probably make more money. I agree that each appears to offer something different. Maybe the enclosed tree is self imposed? In 47, it usually is, though not always. Like saying to think outside the box, or tree.

H36.2 is not a "positive" line; H36 is generally about having to hide from real injury or fear of getting injured; often about cases where others don't share your standards. Then in Line 2, you receive a "serious injury" and it requires a strong spirit/horse to gallop off and escape or recover.

H44.5, where something of beauty is hidden or disguised, sounds like a better bet.
