I asked this question in regard to the sport I have taken up last year and where I don't seem to be progressing as well as everyone else. Would this answer be indicating that the reason I am not doing well is because I am simply not good enough? I never really understood this line, so please help!

Thank you!

Hmm...well I was just reading quite a bit about 7 recently, and it seems to be about discipline. Maybe you are not being disciplined enough in practicing your sport? Also, 2 is about allowing others to take the lead...so maybe it is about following a coach or team lead or just being open to receiving the "ball" or whatever object is involved with the sport..

I would concentrate on the line itself as there is only one changing line. I've found that when I get readings with just one line changing, it's generally all about that line.

I think this line is telling you not to compare yourself to others and to just continue learning at your own pace without forcing things. Like arie13 said above, maybe it also involves following the coach or teacher to learn how to improve. Either way, it is certainly not telling you that you are not good enough. If anything, it is saying you are trying too hard and stressing out about it too much and that you should just relax and let things flow at their own pace.

I have make a weird association with origami and 2.2 . apart from the fact that a square of paper has unlimited potential ( like the potential of h7 ) the procedure sometimes resembles and feels like 2.2 because you make all those folds and then you unfold the paper and fold it in another fashion and feels like its folding itself without " intervene" . Other times , even a complicate folding after doing it for not that many times , you fold it without thinking- effortless.

I agree with others, maybe you try too hard and concentrate on the end result and not to the little things make the whole . Its a gradual process , as Wilhelm describes. First you draw a dot , then another one you connect them and tadaaaa !! A Line !! Add one more dot and connect again ... you get the picture :) dots and lines

Daniel , in Karate kid, was frustrated with Miyaki because he didn't teach him karate -instead he had to do all those chores waxing cars painting fences etc while in essence Miyaki was actually training him. Daniel didn't knew but his muscles had already learn. Its like the invisible water and invisible bonds of h7

Hey Grace, I read this line to say - it's not that your not good enough, you just need to correct something that is not quite right ie. your swing to hit the golf ball or whatever it is you are trying to master.

It's not a matter of discipline or more practice. It will all work out by itself if you just relax and let the situation progress by itself. I have found with 2.2 that there is some hidden assumption we are holding onto that is incorrect.

Hexagram 7 suggests competition. Perhaps by nature you aren't a competitive person.

Gosh Grace how confusing for you with so many different answers. Maybe you'll have to go with your intuition which I believe is a big part of Hexagram 2. - Liss

Thank you all so much for your answers. It's funny really (not in a haha way) all these different answers is a bit how my coaching/training feels like - thousands of instructions from lots of different people and it never feels like I have mastered progress in anything. Too many cooks heh

Any thoughts on forgoing friends/finding friends part of hex 2? Reason I ask is because I have been wondering if I would do better in a different club.

"Perhaps I would do better if I joined a different club" is a good question to ask the I Ching.

How would I do if I were to move to another club? 45.4 > 8

I take this to mean that I would do well and nobody would blame me. So now, just need to find a club that would take me on :)

Thank you so much all for the help!

Looks good to me chickadee :) Clustering and Grouping and Line 4 tells you the great way is open to you, there is no mistake. Oh I do wish you would tell us what sport it is  - be joyous, Liss
