Where I live I always have to reverse to parallel park on the roads. There simply isn't enough room to drive in head on, the spaces are very tight. You could not physically do it if you tried to go head in.

Yes. At one point in my life (long ago) I had to parallel park two or three times a week and I always had to back in.

I thought Lisa was just talking about reversing in to spaces in car parks and so on.

Yes. Mostly my apartment complex, and also parking lots / car parks at grocery stores, malls, my workplace... (I'm remembering from the UK/US thread: car parks = parking lots :D)

Can't hexagram 45 can also mean a group, a shared identity, a common investment?[SUP]*[/SUP] When people back in to park and do it badly (that is, when they're crooked and off-center in their space), it interferes with everyone else's collective ability to park, because the badly-parked cars take up two spaces instead of one. Also, it makes me nervous they'll hit cars on the way in, since they're not good at it.

[SUP]*[/SUP]Concepts from Hilary's book again, bless it (though she probably doesn't have a monopoly on those particular ideas).

Just cycled to a supermarket. Put the push bike in the racks.
Went shopping
Packed the panniers
Unlocked bike
Pulled bike back (ie reversed out if bike rack area
Hit a lady with a disabled trolley walking stick

She was lovely and we chatted for a while - she said that she had sold her bike several years ago as she had to accept defeat.

However - perhaps there should be rules for cyclists too

Lovely present moment despite running into her - sounds like you both enjoyed the chat.
