Just from my own experiences with receiving this hexagram and lines: First of all, increase and joining together (H8) to me in this context would point to D back in your life in some way. Just the way I take it. Perhaps you gave him (unintentionally?) the feeling he should leave, and perhaps you can contact him and get the ball rolling?

Ha, I have gotten this one a lot, for the past several years, usually about a person I am worried about RE my relating to them:

Dense clouds, but no rain. Potential is there, but as H5 says, you must wait.
Line 6: Not to push ahead anymore, but to wait it out.
