Hi everyone,

I'm new to I Ching and I am trying to interpret my reading. I've been single for 5 years and never had much luck in relationships, so I asked the I ching if there is something to look forward to in the future in this regard.

The answer was Hex 49 (lines 4.5) changing to 36. I've read that 36 is not favorable for marriage and seems rather bleak, however hex 49 seems to promise some great transformation, a great change, and it indeed would be if I finally met the right person. What do you think? Many thanks for any help!

It seems like there is something to look forward to in the future, however it may well need a little bit of a nudge from you to help things along.

Right now it may seem as if you are excluded from having meaningful relationships however things are beginning to change for you. You can help yourself through embracing new thoughts and ways of behaving that you believe will work towards restoring some of the harmony that is missing. Shine this new light as strongly as you can into the world around you and gradually the right people will notice you more, like moths around a light, along with this you will attract more of the things that you believe are lacking at this time.

49.4 Regrets vanish - changing mandate.
Don't worry about whether you are destined to marry or not.
49.5 Great person changes like a tiger.
You're strong on your own and you don't need anyone to validate you.

36. Hiding your light when surrounded by crazy people (like husbands and in-laws?)

So basically be careful what you wish for! Enjoy your life as a single person! And particularly don't team up with someone unsuitable just to get your Mrs.!
