I think this reading is very promising! I see it as maybe the best line in the Oracle.

Although any line can be interpreted as a yes or a no I read 50.6-32 in this instance as meaning “No, the virus is now in 50. The Soup Bowl and will 32. Endure.”

I have a different interpretation.
You got the upper line of hexagram 50.
Legge points out "There will be great good fortune, and all action taken will be in every way advantageous. "
Perhaps a woman will find a vaccine against the corona. People will endure the virus.
Very promising answer for me.

Nothing in this positive line invokes stopping, so I'd say whether:

1) the virus successfully remains there; or
2) the humans successfully continue to exist despite the virus.

Both can happen together indeed.

I think the Yi is suggesting here that man cannot stop COVID-19, but that women can!

Or, quite simply: 'nothing cannot be turned to advantage', and that human beings will - if they choose to do so - turn our understanding of it into a decisive response that is 'most promising'.

Why are you all saying that women will find a way?! :???:
Couldn't find any relation to woman in the line.

Although the virus affects mainly men.
Are men's lungs less developed, does anyone know? They're usually bigger and more voluminous than women's, and they can carry more air inside of them.

I think the key to this is that jade does not decay or spoil. It's an upgrade over the metal in line 5, which can rust and corrode. Jade is rust-proof, it's immune to corrosion.
Wasn't it actually used in alchemical immortality elixirs because of its imperiahable quality?

Stopping the virus is a matter of upgrading health technologies (the cast bronze caldron has medicinal and technological symbolism), developing immunization in the form of a vaccine or something.

I agree this is very promising.

Because it might very well be true! Think Madame Curie, Jane Goodall, Rosalind Franklin (DNA fame), and Rachael Carson, environmentalist ....

Or, perhaps it was just a comment - mean to be sarcastic - on the way the question was phrased .... 'will man ....' - which reminded me of the United States Declaration of Independence where it says: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal ....' And which literally did not include women, indians, or slaves - who were not created equal to us white men ....

I've seen 50.6 > 32 to prove to mean "the situation is far from changing / far from cooking". When you say will man be able to stop it, do you mean to find a cure or vaccine? I'm afraid we won't, the situation will continue as it is (32). 32 also means 'survive', but your question was about the virus, will we kill it off, so I'm afraid that it will survive.

I wasn't worried initially, but I'm very worried now. On the other coronavirus thread, 56.3 > 35 shows a very rapid transmission and spread, which is now sadly a fact worldwide. I read some rumours that such viruses die out when the weather gets warmer, but it seems to be untrue. The spanish flu pandemic (1918) lasted for a couple of years, the swine flu (2009) the same, and the previous SARS/coronavirus (2002) also lasted for a couple of years. This is not looking good...

Although Sars didn't get so far, am I right? It just remained confined to China.

Anyway I was getting mad trying to figure out where the line said that women will find a cure
I was thinking my I ching knowledge is really down if I can't see such a basic thing.

Back to the line: I am usually inclined to think that when it said great good fortune, it's great good fortune. So I think humas will be able to win the virus. No virus stays forever. It can kill 3 billion people perhaps, but the other 3 billion will survive for sure.

I thought ‘man’ in the english language would mean hu-man, wo-man, man, and not men as such.
So this is the matter of translation for me.
