Hello all,
I decided to go thru with the appeal which will probably begin next week since it will be a working day. I just wanted to know the outcome before I start, due to anxious anticipation. There is a force 'larger' than me that sort of pushes it; this issue's been draggin' for a long time, just because I know the difficulties in doing something like that.

So I asked the I ching, will I obtain what I want from the appeal eventually? (because, if I dont get what I want, whats the use of appealing?)
The Iching gave me an answer, 44.2.4>53. The changing lines look like the devil's churning in the mix, but 53 presents progress. I am not sure if it is saying yes, it will give me what I want? Or, no, it won't, and I should just drop it, because there is "no fish in the tank". I will progress after that.

Nine in the fourth place means:
No fish in the tank.
This leads to misfortune.

Insignificant people must be tolerated in order to keep them well disposed.
Then we can make use of them if we should need them. If we become
alienated from them and do not meet them halfway, they turn their backs on
us and are not at our disposal when we need them. But this is our own fault.

What does this mean, and who are insiginifcant people? They seem to be clues for something. In any case, I have already decided to go thru with the appeal. The ball won't be in my court any longer.

Yes you will but this appeal looks like it is going to be a slowie, so you will need patience to see it through. Insignificant people are people who you consider to be of no use to your appeal process so it warns you that you never know who might be of use to you in the future, and therefore you need to keep on good terms with everyone.

"There is a force 'larger' than me that sort of pushes it; this issue's been draggin' for a long time, just because I know the difficulties in doing something like that."

This sentence is 44. If you look at the hx it is a yin line entering from below, seductive, as something no dangerous. But it is. That's why line 2 is telling you to keep an eye on it, otherwise it would show all its evil. Line 4 is about being unpolite with someone, for her/his proposals.

Thank you both of you for replying!:bows:
Willowfox, thanks, I do understand what it means now! There are alot of those of "insignificance", or probably detractors from it. I will probably have to maintain good relationships as you mention. I actually don't want to appeal because it is really alot of trouble involved, but, after dropping it many times, I just couldn't give up on it. The only stopping force would be a passed deadline now.

txortx, thanks for your insight on 44. Yes, it doesn't seem goodat all, which I already know in my case. If I appeal, it will be dredging up things that may not want to see the light of day, and probably giving more work to the stressed co-ordinator. In this case, 44.4 may refer to the co-ordinator, whose proposal to reject my appeal was not taken into heed. My coordinator actually wrote a letter against the appeal, but after a long long deliberation, I decided to go through with it again, because, hey, I deserve the grade! I suppose I have to be prepared now :)

Oh blah, there is a new twist to this. The deadline has been passed! So now I am left wondering what 44>53 really means. Sigh, 'tis bad! perhaps the insignificant people are the messengers in this. And, 53 still wishes me luck for future endeavours, so it isnt really so bad afterall. And I didnt really want to go through the appeal. I guess I just really needed to know there's no way out, so there's no "what if"? Y'know, deadlines are good, it saves us alot of trouble and unwarranted displaced emotions.
