Nearly 6 weeks ago, while I was staying in the UK, I sent a small parcel by registered post to a friend in Africa. The parcel has still not arrived and I am beginning to get restive about it. I have sent parcels there before and they arrived, albeit usually with some delay. This delay is longer than I was expecting. The last parcel I had sent took only 2 weeks (that was quick). I can't do anything about this parcel now - it's left my hands: and it's a surprise for my friend so I've not talked about it. In any case, the usual answer by the postal service in that country to tracking inquiries is "no sign yet" until an item actually turns up!

I want to know if the parcel will arrive soon.

I drew 28, 1.2. >> 49

I think that's a yes - especially 28.2.

To be honest, I am surprised to draw that hexagram for that question! I can't really see the excess in the situation, except perhaps it's telling me my worry is excessive (and that would be odd, as I do think about it, but not excessively!). I am stumped by 28.1 in this context. I'm also surprised by 49, unless it means that the situation will be completely overturned and the missing parcel will turn up. Or maybe it refers to the parcel itself causing a transformation in my friend, by virtue of its surprise and contents.

Any ideas?

The picture is one of sagging in the middle and too heavy for it's supports. Maybe there has been a problem with the packaging.
28.1 - How well was it wrapped up / labled? There has been a problem with packaging and handling.
28.2 - It's being repacked and redirected. It'll get there in the end.
49 - The shedding of the skin will come good. Don't sweat on this matter.

In 28 the weight is too much to bear, there is an over demand on the situation.so here this could be absloutley anything between how you handled the parcel ie addressing, weighing etc to over demand the postal end...staff cuts etc I'd automatically think of the weight of the parcel with 28 and with 28.1 there seems an issue of needing to be especialy careful withthe parcel for some reason..which could be to do with you or them. I guess 28.2 looks positive though can't exactly see how it relates to question.

Hmm 49 is all about shedding old skins, revolution..and i very often find 49 comes up around wrappings of all kinds, clothes, shoes and literally bindings, things of leather. I'm wondering if the packaging came undone in transit ...too much pressure (28) and it needed to be 'rebound' (49) When a wrapping like a skin becomes useless it sheds..

My sense is the parcel will arrive but possibly repackaged or relabelled in some way..though of course i can't say for sure, its a shot in the dark. Anyway I wouldn't take this answer as as a no.

I get much the same answer, perhaps wrongly addressed, or the parcel got ripped open but it seems that it will get there.

LOL

Just a precision, it was a small, light parcel - weighing less than 100 grammes - and wrapped in a padded envelope, with extra sticky tape, the items inside individually bubble-wrapped for added safety. The address is the same I have used for 2 years with success. It's possible that the padded envelope might be ripped open - deliberately or by mistake. The items are of absolutely no commercial value - just little things to cheer up a friend who is going through a bad patch.

I wouldn't be surprised at the lack of staff - it's a very poor country and there is - as everywhere - an economic downturn.

Being careful with the parcel - this is interesting: from my perspective, I wrapped it extra carefully, because the last one I sent, though it got there quickly, arrived with the item inside broken. But of course, the postal service wouldn't know that.

I wonder if the customs didn't open it - and have to repackage it, of course. I made a custom declaration, it's not worth anything - but who knows?

Curious.

28.2 does give me hope.

When (if!) it arrives I'll update the thread as to the state it arrived in!

I've had another thought about the weight and the mat... maybe that small parcel is lying under a pile of other post - it is literally weighed down by it - but all will be well, it'll be found and delivered.
