My working hours have increased because of a coworker quitting, turning me to a full-time worker (working from home at the moment because of coronavirus).

Up to this day I have worked part-time for this company for more than three years. My wage will certainly increase, but I'm afraid they don't pay me the legal full-time wage regarding my job experience, instead consider the additional hours as some type of overwork for a part-time employee (in the case I'll quit this job). I'm going to negotiate the conditions.

I asked: "Will they pay me the legal wage of a full-time worker?" and got 54.5>58.
I'm confused about the line:

"The first wife's sleeves are not as fine as the younger sister's.
The moon almost full, good fortune."

Then who am I? The younger sister who earns more than some fellows, or the wife who doesn't find her appropriate place despite being noble & humble?

I then asked: "Will I have the suitable, legal work conditions or I'd have to leave?", and got 37.6>63.
The line indicates acting "with truth and confidence like authority" which leads to good fortune. Sure, I have to be determined and insist on my rights, but what's the good outcome? Hexagram 63 could show an ending, but also the completion of a mission; a resolution. So I can't say if I leave or earn what's mine.

What do you think?

Hi Mary:
In general is not adviceable to try twice with the same or almost the same question.

Centering in H.54, the appearance is in general disfavorable and see that line 4 is not that of the girls, the sleeves and the full moon but the line of the delayed marriage. Don't hurry!

Errors in consults have motives, maybe our own inner daemon message. A warning.

I believe that in the current conditions it's no good to be out of work. Better little than nothing!
Maybe the answer is «be cautious, take your time to think how to ask, don't make them easy to fire you». Maybe they didn't think that or maybe yes.

Of course, the last word is yours. Have luck!

All the best,

Charly

Hello;
I received 54.5, as I've written in the title, and copied Hilary's translation. I corrected the typing error.

Hi, Mary:

If you take as good the 5th line ...
"The first wife's sleeves are not as fine as the younger sister's.
The moon almost full, good fortune."

... I believe that the message is the same.

All the best,

Charly

Hi Mary:

In historical context the more probabable is that both sisters got married with the same Lord. The elder sister fated to be the main wife and the youger sister or cousin, Gui Mei, fated to be a secondary wife.

The story of the sleeves is only a matter of figurative speech, I believe. Sleeves were associated with feminity and beauty. Say the younger girl was prettier, more hospitable, had more appeal.

The moon almost full could be an euphemism pointing to that she looked pregnant or, maybe, signify that the moment is propitious. For what? That's the question!

I have no doubt that you are Gui Mei in this story, with no idea who is the older sister.

Be cautious. Have you read the Judgement and the Image?

All the best,

Charly

The pay they offer for working full time is not better than the pay you are getting for working part time.
The times are changing - leading to good fortune.

I see this as meaning you should assume they will try to continue to pay you at the part time rate but the waxing moon image suggests to me that you could argue that if this work load continues beyond the current pay period - like 2 weeks - then you should be considered a full time worker and be paid accordingly.

37.6 seems to be such a positive line that I say it indicates that if you are clear and non-threatening about your rights it easily leads to a whole new situation for you - full time, properly paid employee!

Good luck and please let us know!

I’d interpret it as you came second so you’re younger sister. If it were my reading. But pay is levied in multiple ways I.e benefits, work arrangements etc in addition to money.... so there’s that too.

Hi, Chelsa:
I agree with you that the querent shoul be the younger sister but although she comes after the main wife, she has a strategic advantage and a luckier potential.

Possibly Gui Mei enjoys her position more, even being it socially less secure.

For some reason she is associated with the POND trigram, meaning JOY, LITTLE DAUGHTER, etc.

And, of course, the additional benefits could be often intangible, satisfaction with the work one does, feelings of camaraderie, opportunities for making experience o contacts, free time for studying, enjoying or doing whatelse be.

Also that, looking around, one can get the feeling that THINGS COULD BE WORSE.

All the best,

Charly

I finally received my money a month ago after a legal procedure that took 1/5 years to complete 🥵 Of course the money was less than the promised amount. I didn't have enough documents to prove it.

So: 54.5> 58: I received an amount less than the legal wage for full time workers

37.5> 63 I had to leave with authority.
