Hi clarity friends !
I don't want to give you the sensation of grasping your attention with all my posts of the last few weeks. But I just want to share this reading with you just to reflect a little bit about physical matters that may be of your interest. I feel more and more on good terms with the universe so that yesterday, after a nice chat with my brother about the meaning of our lives in this quite unknown place, I risked to throw an inquiry about the Higgs Bossom. I said: give me a picture of what the Higgs Bossom is.

34.1.2.3>16

I'm afraid my poor english and my lack of knowledge about physics prevent me from adapting this reading to what the reality of the concept would mean. Fair enough, next week I will meet a colleage who is a doctor in physics, so that I will be able to ask him what the Higgs Bossom represents to our understanding of matter. I promise I will take good note of that. But, until then, here it is what Yi has to say about it. Maybe some of you are already keen on this kind of stuff !
Thank you again for your patience
:bows:
And have a good weekend !

Huge energy (34) that oscillates (16).
If you look at the trigrams, the lower on goes from Heaven/Energy/Potential to Earth/Receptive.
And upper trigram is full of movement/electricity.
A good general description for elementary particles.

But then I've found this image:
higgs-boson-lhc-111212a-02.jpg

It's about a celebrity and a party (16)! what a coincidence :)
Realizing of potential into energy by movement.

Ash ! First of all I chose a wrong spelling for Boson (*Bossom ?) well, that's me smashing English :p
And yes, it seems to be basically about energetic fields, but I would like to insert the concept into a humanistic perspective, that's why I prefer to ask specialists and see if I can draw any conclusion.
Anyway, you made me laugh a lot with that image :D
Thank you !!

well, that's me smashing English :p

I could not resist leaping enthusiastically into this field of energy which you have created, Endless. So, figuratively speaking, you are Higgs particle in this case.

Boson is the physicist and moniker, who hypothesized the Higgs particle theory before it was discovered at CERN.

I also think this is a good example of how lines 1, 2 and 3 are not moral admonitions of human construction but are the way energy spontaneously is attracted to and sticks to the Higgs particle. In this way the center of an energy cluster can only be revealed by smashing the collective particle forcefully, as in the CERN collider. It's like a mini Big Bang, which is from where the name God Particle was derived, and from where the image of the energetic dance of Shiva was derived and used as symbol at CERN. Note that Shiva dances in the center of the ring of fire.

A special plaque next to the Shiva statue at CERN explains the significance of the metaphor of Shiva’s cosmic dance with several quotations from The Tao of Physics. Here is the text of the plaque:

Ananda K. Coomaraswamy, seeing beyond the unsurpassed rhythm, beauty, power and grace of the Nataraja, once wrote of it “It is the clearest image of the activity of God which any art or religion can boast of.”

More recently, Fritjof Capra explained that “Modern physics has shown that the rhythm of creation and destruction is not only manifest in the turn of the seasons and in the birth and death of all living creatures, but is also the very essence of inorganic matter,” and that “For the modern physicists, then, Shiva’s dance is the dance of subatomic matter.”

It is indeed as Capra concluded: “Hundreds of years ago, Indian artists created visual images of dancing Shivas in a beautiful series of bronzes. In our time, physicists have used the most advanced technology to portray the patterns of the cosmic dance. The metaphor of the cosmic dance thus unifies ancient mythology, religious art and modern physics.”

Worthy of contemplation is Shiva's right foot, standing upon the back of ignorance, depicted as a daemon or dwarf. Perhaps this means creation origin is unknowable and requires smashing illusion of appearances.

Sooo ! I love that you dropped that joker !

So, figuratively speaking, you are Higgs particle in this case.

Well, I always wished to be an elf but I can conform with that :eek:uch:

I also think this is a good example of how lines 1, 2 and 3 are not moral admonitions of human construction but are the way energy spontaneously is attracted to and sticks to the Higgs particle.

And then line 3 could be depicting the effect of Higgs particle not letting matter transforms itself because of the spontaneous attraction it produces (question mark) sorry, not on my computer)

energy cluster = mass or matter or light (light is also particles, i.e. what is visible)

Wilhelm's 2.2 commentary has always intrigued me in regard to this; the 3-dimensional world.

Straight, square, great.
Without purpose,
Yet nothing remains unfurthered.

The symbol of heaven is the circle, and that of earth is the square. Thus squareness is a primary quality of the earth. On the other hand, movement in a straight line, as well as magnitude, is a primary quality of the Creative. But all square things have their origin in a straight line and into turn form solid bodies. In mathematics, when we discriminate between lines, planes and solids, we find that rectangular planes result from straight lines, and cubic magnitudes from rectangular planes. The Receptive accommodates itself to the qualities of the Creative and makes them its own. Thus a square develops out of a straight line and a cube out of a square. This is compliance with the laws of the Creative; nothing is taken away, nothing added. Therefore the Receptive has no need of a special purpose of its own, nor of any effort yet everything turns out as it should. (wu wei)

Nature creates all beings without erring: this is its foursquareness. It tolerates all creatures equally: this is its greatness. Therefore it attains what is right for all without artifice or special intentions. Man achieves the height of wisdom when all that he does is as self-evident as what nature does.

So, the question arises: Do I smash the illusion or do I participate in the creative process of manifestation, knowing that it's really nothing? I've found a good answer to this question in Wilhelm's 52 commentary:

While Buddhism strives for rest through an ebbing away of all movement (energy, matter, mass, light) in nirvana, the Book of Changes holds that rest is merely a state of polarity that always posits movement as its complement

Crossed posts, but I think line 3 can be restraining the release of unrestricted energy, which is more or less the conclusion of my last post. Not smashing what we call physical reality, but rather participating in the creative process by being transformed and made manifest, as in the receptive hex 2.

Or, one can choose the way of Nirvana.

And the only image I could ever believe…..God is a verb.

co-creating the universe

THE original question was about The Higgs Boson.

34.1.2.3 >16

Siva Nataraj sits in front of CERN, the God of Creation and Destruction, rather like their patron saint. In the Siva Yoga Sutras, creativity developed by highly concentrated yogis is a common theme.

FROM Siva Sutras:

The World Process:
It is the svabhava or very nature of Ultimate Reality to manifest. Creativity is of the very essence of Divinity. If Ultimate Reality did not manifest, it would not be Self or consciousness, but not-Self, something like a jar. (YIN)

SUTRA 37:
"When the Yogis shine forth with manifest power of creativity, their want of firmness for creativity is firmly and immediately shattered, and then their Will power becomes a Kalpa- taru"

Kalpataru is a tree of svarga or Indra's paradise fabled to fulfill all desires; the wish-fulfilling tree.

"One can realize the capacity of creativity from one's own experience."
From one's own experience in the matter of imagination and dreams one's capacity to create extraordinary things is well established. With this purport, it has been said in Pratyabhijfia:

"Therefore, from the power of conception (avabhasandt)1 and execution (samullekhd2) according to one's desire, i.e. the power of knowing and doing (jnanakriya) of all living beings is clearly established." (I, VI, 11).
Such being the possibility, if he (the Yogi) is oriented towards creation with strong will, he can, according to his wish also create something common to all people.

One might also read these hexagrams as: The Higgs Boson was created by a very highly concentrated Yogi, Mr. Higgs himself. With enormous enthusiasm and powerful will, he conceived something that no one could talk him out of, something Siva, the avatar of the project, could not help but shower upon him: The World Process.

Perhaps "retrieve" would be a better word than "conceive." His own brilliance and passion created a sort of chute from eternity that allowed that obscure information to come to him.

I knew I had something wrong, backwards. Thanks for pointing it out, Poised. Boson is the particle, Higgs is the physicist.

Also, in regard to 16:
In quantum mechanics an excited state of a system (such as an atom, molecule or nucleus) is any quantum state of the system that has a higher energy than the ground state (that is, more energy than the absolute minimum). The temperature of a group of particles (what I called energy cluster*) is indicative of the level of excitation (with the notable exception of systems that exhibit Negative temperature).

Here one can see elements of 34:
Excited states are often calculated using Coupled cluster*, Møller–Plesset perturbation theory, Multi-configurational self-consistent field, Configuration interaction,[1] and Time-dependent density functional theory. These calculations are more difficult than non-excited state calculations.

As you see God only as a verb, so I see your use of the Yogi - Shiva/Siva himself as energy, hence the dance, universal excitement of the Creative, or as the Yi says: The Creative is untiring.

It's difficult to say whether releasing this Higgs_boson particle, which to some degree is still unproven absolutely (though a hidden particle of some sort was released by the collision), is a dangerous or healthy thing for the earth. I suppose it's like nuclear fission, which can be used for creative or destructive ends. Possibly a meaning of 34, and containment and controlled use of power or energy.

Thank you all for the interesting ties you have created !
Today I though about the dance of Shiva while participating in a class. It was a dance/hall class and performance at the beach and then the dancer came to the middle and everyone was following his movements around him in a circle. All his energy and the excitement of the people ! I recalled the first of your analogies, Sooo, that of the Boson creating a field and the matter adhering to it. BUT NOW I can see it was Shiva surrounded by a fire circle, all of us, pure energy !!
