As I've said in previous posts on here, I've had a somewhat unfortunate life. Generational issues, trauma, all that fun stuff. I've *been* a victim for sure, and there is some value in acknowledging that so that you don't blame yourself for things outside your control, but I just worry about being "that person" that clings to victimhood as their identity and perpetuating the cycle. It's so hard not to become bitter when you're regularly subjected to awful things that aren't your fault at all. It sometimes feels like I'm a lightning rod for misfortune, and maybe that's all I ever get to be.

As for the reading, I get the sense that hex 61+59 is confirming "yes, you are aware internally that you need to release some of your limiting ideas about being Someone Who Suffers™️" but I'm not sure how to tie in line 1. Some translations say something about preparedness and not being secretive, some talk about hunting and fishing, the wikiwing translation says "guided, good fortune. If there is another, no peace." Maybe it's advice to use my experiences as guidance rather than seeking it externally? Maybe what has happened to me has taught me what I need to know and looking to other people for what I need to do isn't in my best interest? I could be way off there, let me know 🤷‍♀️

Curb it to your exact own experience and sacrifice the memory to the gods.
Hex 59 says disperse it. Sacrifice it to the lord and approach your temple.
Line 1 says don't use it for ulterior motives.

We are all victims of our ignorance till we learn something new about ourselves and others. But we should not generalize it as our character.
If it is something that keeps coming back in your life, it signals a fear you are not ready to see, so examine it gently and give your heart the space to speak so your ego can heal instead of self destruction, that is your inner truth.

If you deny it or fight it it stays in the back of your head taking your authority over your life and you end up believing either that you are weak and guilty, then you perpetuate the cycle by attracting bullies, or that you are strong and alienated and hate yourself because you are taking responsibility for others faults.
That is what I understand from line 1. So like a king, build your safe place (the heart) as your temple for the lord (the Self), then you will be able to disperse it in the winds (wind is thinking) and cross the great water light, free from bagages and as a new you.

Wish you a peacful heart.

EDIT: the change is in the inner trigram so you could find it easier to deal with it by entering your temple.
trigram wind is gentle and represent thought/ over trigram water which represent fear. So disperse the fear gently with your thinking to find the joy of your heart and inner truth among others which is the trigram lake (It is social by the way).

61.1 says readiness is good but to go beyond that will disturb your peace.

As you have asked about victim mentality I read it as maybe you tend to assume the worst. It is good to have some strategies in mind but being always fearful and catastrophizing everything doesn't help. Disperse it.
