Dear Community

Just received 29 after a long stretch of similarly themed answers relating to my future after a loss of great, nourishing and also quietly joyful love. Most of them saying: yup, this is objectively bad, big loss, nothing you can do but go through it. The question that prompted the dreaded 29 was not about the lost love itself, but about my fears of mismanaging the recovery process and never being able to feel the life joy I once experienced while being a part of this relationship.
I received 29 with a flurry of changing lines in the middle - 2,3 and 4 - transforming into 31.
A clear danger is suggested here, which I know is coming (he still needs to move his possessions out of our shared apartment and that will hurt immensely) and I feel Yi telling me: indeed, brace, it will get even harder. Nothing to do but suffer through it. And true, fears justified as no guarantees life will ever be as joyful again. This is a life-sized loss.
Is my interpretation, however glum, correct? Or is there something that I am in my current state of emotional eclipse not seeing? The 31 is confusing, overly optimistic it feels.

31 could be the relationship itself - "Mutual Influence."

And true, fears justified as no guarantees life will ever be as joyful again. This is a life-sized loss.

Maybe not. Your reading did end up at 29.4 which promises at least some meaningful help and connection. The omen is "In the end, no mistake."

And 29.3 advises you to rest. That's also not the worst thing Yi could say.

29.2 is pretty scary, though, and since it's the first of the three lines it might be how things feel and where you are right now, in a very deep hole.

But overall I think the reading says this will get progressively better.

31 always comes up for me around heartbreak, loss and feeling pulled off center by love or grief, some other emotion coming from attachment to people.

Perhaps Yi is just saying this is just the 29 (repeating) risk you take loving someone. 29 for me shows up around emotional risk most of all.

Have faith! It is eclipse season and Scorpio season. Lots of planetary influence bringing up deep hard emotions. It will not be permanent. Grief comes and goes in cycles.

I think of 29 as describing an energy pattern that has been repeated so often that it has become habitual. Like we’ve became stuck in a rut only it’s worse than a rut, it’s a fricken’ ravine!

31. Influence accentuates that we can moderate just how open we choose to be to the influences of others and events.

Together I see these hexagrams as observing that you’ve been through similar experiences so many times in the past and those lousy memories are influencing your assumptions about how this scenario is going to play out. Perhaps it would be helpful if you were to reflect on how you got through those past breakups and rather than singing the “Here comes that rainy day feeling again” song, focus on songs that lift your spirits and move you forward like “I Will Survive!” Because you always have and you will again!!
