Hexagram 13 with lines 3,4,5 and 6 changing into 24

I am in a complex relationship. We met 1 year ago, I live in America he lives in Africa and we met in Singapore 1 year ago. We both have someone else but we can't seem to be able to forget each other. I did try to walk away and we did not communicate for 3 months. But he reached out to me and here we are. Neither one of us knows quite what is the right thing to do. So sometimes there is just this long hiatus where we don't say anything. I asked the Yi today, "What is the correct thing for me to do in terms of reaching out and communicating with him" and I got 13 with lines 3,4,5 and 6 changing into hexagram 24. From where I see it, 24 RETURN could be each of us back into ourselves, introspective. But 13 is all about Fellowship with Men. Any insight? Do I reach out to him or do I not?

Fellowship with men often denotes relationships of a more platonic kind like a friendship, but you do have line 5 changing which some people think means something more. My personal jury is still out on this one. I've had it recently myself but it's not played out yet. I'm certainly feeling the adversity mentioned, but not yet the reconciliation.

Either way, a reconciliation is mentioned, as is the process of forming a connection after a struggle / disconnection. 24 means a turning point, generally. Not necessarily a turning into yourself. It could mean a change of direction, which in this case could maybe mean a change in your relationship.
Either way, there is nothing here that says to me not to reach out. Quite the contrary. It just seems to say it won't be an easy, smooth process and there's a chance it will lead to friendship rather than a relationship.
