Hi all,
I am hoping that you will share your insights, or even possibly suggest follow up questions to clarify some answers I've received, or even different questions altogether.

I have made/been through many big changes in my life over the last few years (left an unfullfilling marriage of nine years: no communication or affection from the partner, left a well paying job of ten years with a greedy unethical corporation : could not stand to witness them abuse the employees anymore, left another "what truly seemed to be a good relationship in the beginning"- until my partners severe and clinically diagnosed psychological problems emerged. I had to seek counseling for grief and anxiety after, it was really messed up)

So, I've made some big changes and feel i am ready to make more.
I am seeking meaningful and appropriate work and direction now.

I saw an example of a "big" question on this site to ask, and did so.
Question 1: Please, show me something of who i truly am?
1 -2 -13
Question 2: Please, what kind of work would I be best suited to doing?
30- 6 - 55
Your interpretations are very much welcomed.

Hi,

I can only do one question at a time. So for the first question "who you truly are" 1.2>13

I think 1- shows you are a very creative person, a strong leader, detail oriented, and you care about the good of people. You are able to persevere through problems, until a solution is found, and you seek
growth.

Line 2- I feel advises you to make yourself visual in a way that those in a high position, can recognize your qualities, and help you advance. Seems to say you will all benefit after you find this connection.

13- you are a people person. You enjoy fellowship, can appreciate a diverse community, and find mutual interest, or common ground. You are a problem solver.

I will come back to try and give insight for second question.

Second question, "what kind of work would you best be suited doing?" Answer 30.6>55.

I have a hard time narrowing this down. Pocossin is very good at this, if you are lucky he will come along.

Either way, I see it saying a position of authority, supervisor of some type.

Perhaps... a police office, teacher, advisor, or manager.

I will try and read again to see if anything else jumps out at me.

I think it's saying you have to start all over again, like the sun rising on a brand new day. I know it sounds vague, but we never do get specific answers when we ask Yi a general question like that.

Very kind of you, Blue_Angel. I don't feel worthy, but since I was buzzed on this one, for work I'd suggest a property manager in a resort area. Nuclear hexagram 28 and resulting hexagram 55 suggest property. Resort property involving cabins is high maintenance (28). The two wood trigrams may be seen as trees. The fire trigram below the trees suggests fireplaces and grills, common in resort areas. There is that energy-depleting metal upper nuclear trigram. Since metal is associated with grief, I think you will need to overcome the loses you have experienced in the past before progressing.

Thank you to everyone for responding.

I am seriously considering a certain kind of work (and have been in the back of my mind for a while) .
So, I asked on the matter and received an answer that seem to me to confirm that it is a good choice.
But, to clarify that my interpretation is not just a manifestation of my bad habit of wishful thinking,
I'm looking for some feedback.

Question: Is the work that I wish to do in accordance with the will of Heaven?

Answer: 26- 4.6 -34

Again, my interpretation is 'yes and it would be a good path.'

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

The Wilhelm-Baynes translation of 26.6 uses the same words as your question: "One attains the way of heaven. / Success."

I have no actual ideas about any of your readings (even the 26.4 line that goes with 26.6), but since I don't know what translation you're using, I just wanted to mention this :).

I wish to comment on a few things:

1-Dear Pocossin,
Thank you for taking the time and energy to respond.
I was reluctant at first to comment after you shared your insights because you addressed the reading from a perspective of understanding very different than my own, and I wished neither to feel like a fool for my lack of understanding (pride), or to be critical of someone who I poked for help. :] (I hope that is kindness)
After reading your comments I felt an inner sense of confusion and disorientation. I observed it and chewed on it, and let it go, and did some more of the same to understand my feelings.
It took some days. What I came to understand was that there is a type of work that the best part of me
deeply wants to be a part of. I am going to describe it for the purpose of increasing our collective understanding:
I am going to work for a government agency that receieves and investigates reports of child abuse and intervenes either by removing the abusers from the childs life or by providing assistance and education to parents in need of nurturing.
Compare with line 6: Legge: The sixth line, dynamic, shows the king employing his subject in his punitive expeditions. Achieving admirable merit, he breaks only the chiefs of the rebels. Where his prisoners were not their associates, he does not punish. There will be no error.

2-I have found that some times the oracle gives me startling clear, direct and unambiguous answers.
I have found that sometimes it comments not on the focus of my query (as I feel it did in my second question), but rather proposes a question back to me, urging me to reflect on my motivations in the situation. In essence it speaks to me as a wise friend or kind elder would, guiding me to further questions or letting me know I am experiencing tunnel visiion on an issue. And it generally requires patience and calmness for me to understand.

3- I have witnessed and read about a human phenomenon (I do not recall the name of it)
But let me describe it: a patient goes to see a doctor and frantically offers information about the symptoms in great detail, going on and on at length. (My lungs are full of pleghm, I have trouble sleeping, my left foot hurts, I have a cough, it is worse in the morning, I can't breath through my nose, I have no appetite, this continues for several minutes... Somewhere in there the patient also mentions a toothache) The barrage of information assaults the doctors mind (as I feel I did with my initial post, my apologies to everyone) and at some point they sort of tune out and prescribe an expectorant medicine to clear out the lungs. This turns out to be ineffective because the cause of the illness is a tooth infection.
So I guess what I am getting at here is to say that as patients we should try to simplify our explanations/background and not overwhelm the doctor (as I did when including all of the uneeded recent history of my life), and as doctors we need to be more patient and unhurried with our patients.
Or in a modern lingo: Let us all "slow our roll"

••4- I have experienced something with the oracle that I have also experienced in communicating with people:
If you use the others language, they will understand you better and therefore you will understand them better. Recently, I have begun forming my questions in the language of the text, and have had better communications thereby. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you all for being here,
Moss Elk

Hi Moss Elk,

I missed your thread and only yesterday found it. I'm currently reading " the body remembers" and putting aside the benefit of hindsight , your 30.6 feels so spot on. Abuse, either psychical or emotional, takes prisoners and the chief sometimes becomes invisible so the "prisoners" believe they are free just because the can't see the prison's walls.

I partly agree with the long introductions. Sometimes they prime the reader and can't move freely in the Yi's answer , but sometimes between the lines other stories inhabit. The details from you personal story , imo, are not at all irrelevant with your reading. Whether we like it or not , our future comes from the past. somebody i know believes that its a myth that we can get rid or our burdens but learning to walk with them they become lighter and we can take back our power.
sorry for the slightly ( or largely) off topic comment but I found your reading impressive and moving. If you decide to follow that path , wishing you the best !

••4- I have experienced something with the oracle that I have also experienced in communicating with people:
If you use the others language, they will understand you better and therefore you will understand them better. Recently, I have begun forming my questions in the language of the text, and have had better communications thereby. Has anyone else experienced this?

The underlined is so true. In many occasions, when I really want to understand others but the "language" they use obstruct my understanding I ask persistently for that because If I "translate" it I know that I participate in a exchange with lots of misunderstandings in my mind.

haven't thought before to use it with Yi too. Could your share your thoughts and experiences on that? It sounds really interesting approach.
