Perhaps on topic... I subscribe to Juxtapoz, a cool magazine about Pop Art and Culture. In the current edition, there is an interview with Nobu (Usugrow), a young Japanese artist. Mind you, most of the artist featured in the magazine started as graffiti artist and many are still "tagging". Many are tattoo artist as well. Usugrow paints almost exclusively in black and white.

He's been interviewed by Mike Giant and one of the last questions posed to him received what I believe is a very good and spiritual reply:

Are there other experiences in your life that are similar to the way you feel when you're making art?

There are tons. I think that the process of making art is exactly the same as life and living. You picture your dream and idea strongly in your mind, and you do your best to work it out. Once you move forward, you cannot go through without bumping against a wall. You have to know that things go well sometimes, and sometimes they do not. Like black and white, you need to be able to define black if you want to know white. Having gone through bad experiences makes you realize how wonderful the good times are, and you may be able to appreciate it. "Big mountain creates a big shadow. Big mountain with no shadow is just an illusion."

"What happens when an unstopable object hits an unmoveable object ?"

If you are thinking one-dimensionally, then this question does create a paradox and numerous explanations. In a one-dimensional universe, it would not be possible for the 'unstoppable' or 'unmoveable' to lose its inherent qualities, because in essence they both share the same space. But we don't live in a one-dimensional universe, so luckily the answer is far more simple.
The 'unstoppable' and 'unmoveable' can both co-exist without either losing its nature. Time can be considered an 'unstoppable' force, but time is just a man-made mechanism to measure change. So in this sense, time can also be deemed an 'unmoveable' force, because it is ever-present.
The fabric of space can be considered an 'unmoveable' object, it is the canvas for which all forces, whether they be nuclear or electromagnetic occur and interact. Space is ever-present and 'unmoveable', but still allows for the existance of infinite 'unstoppable' force. However, space can also be deemed as 'unstoppable' because space itself cannot be destroyed, and momentum is only measured by an objects positions in space. So the nature of space is 'unstoppable' and 'unmoveable'.

And if all matter did originate from a singularity, then all matter and energy, and every nature of being, whether that be unstoppable or unmoveable are actually the same thing, entwined on the deepest of subatomic levels. Hence the spiritualist saying - 'we are all one'. Jung called it the collective unconscious. Science calls it quantum entanglement. Many names for the same thing.

The Yi itself is a symbol of 'unstoppable force hitting an unmoveable object'. Change is unstoppable and unmoveable, they both coinicide simultaneously.

But if you asked the question from a purely one-dimensional stance, then you will only ever recieve a paradoxical answer.

By the way, 'perspective' doesn't promote understanding anymore than 'non-perspective'. Perspective is the shattering of 'what is' into many 'what if's', and then using comparison to lead you back to the 'what is'. Reality can only be relative if everything is a collection of 'what if's'. 'What is' isnt relative, regardless of the viewpoint, because it has not been shattered and therefore exists at every point in the universe simultaneously.

As usual, I waffled on again :)
