Can anyone shed light on this reading please?
To me, it is saying that having given a urine sample to the GP, and now I await results, I must just be patient and that the issue is not as serious as it might have seemed. The dipstick has been done and is apparently negative, but the surgery have now sent the sample to the hospital for processing.

Hexagram 38, with changing lines 1, 4, 6, becoming Hexagram 7.

Thank you very much for any interpretations.

Whenever things like that are going on for me I look at what's going on in my life particularly to do with the emotions.
You do have Hexagram 38 which can be Opposition so you may want to look if you are experiencing some sort of opposing force/s anywhere in your life.
The kidneys are related to - Fears, insecurities, guilt and feeling that you are not being appreciated or are less worthy. Holding onto resentment/anger for a long time.
Also look up the Sacral Chakra that's related to Water and the Kidneys but other than that you'll just have to wait for the test results!!

It's a very common symptom, I've had it my entire life more or less. I wouldn't generally see it as an indicator of anything serious most likely scenarios being

1. Over active bladder
2. Urinary tract infection/cystitis
3. Even thrush possibly
4. More seriously diabetes 2
5. Other things I don't know about
6. For a man prostate trouble ?
7. light sleeping/stress/bladder overactive ie indicating 'full' before it actually is full

You say the dipstick was negative but don't say negative for what ? A UTI or diabetes or what ? For a proper diabetes test a blood test is usually required I think though first off I think they would look at urine.

Not an expert but having suffered this for years am quite familiar with the options. I wouldn't jump to any idea it's serious though it's wise to rule it out I guess. Over active bladder is very common as are mild UTIs, normally with a full on bladder infection you'd be very frequent daytime too.

Your question is about the reason for it and I would just look at the most usual reasons for it listed above and as I say it is very common and may not be a symptom of anything very much other than the bladder signalling 'full' a bit too early which apparently one can train it somewhat not to.

38.1.4.6>7 looks to me like possibly making a project (7) out of something which isn't a project which you could view differently. Are you limbering up to take on some task you perceive as difficult or a life change ? If so 38 would suggest you don't need to have all your bodily 'alerts' on. Premature signals to empty bladder can be a bodily alert as in 'danger get ready' since evolution has meant in times of threat we empty our bodies in order to run faster from the sabre tooth tigers and so on.
Both lines 1 and 6 are showing this is less of a threat than you think. However it's best not to diagnose with Yi, better to rely on the tests.

One behaviour that can cause an overactive bladder is something we learn as children of going to the bathroom before a journey or an outing when we don't actually need to go. This confuses the bladder brain connection into thinking it's full when it isn't. However as you don't have this daytime it won't apply.

Thanks Trojina. Well there is no project i am limbering up for, just generalized anxiety which I have always suffered with, so I am sure that anxiety will play a part in this problem and I also have insomnia! I may get a result before the end of the week so I will keep you informed if you like!

Thank you becalm, I have looked up sacral chakra AFFIRMATIONS, and will give that a go whilst I await the results! The qualities you list I certainly experience.

I'm not getting the connection here. You're saying that you need to get up and pee a lot at night, AND that you peed into a cup to give a sample of your pee? What does one have to do with the other?

Hello;

38 is opposition. The reason is going through an opposing situation & psychological pressure.
38.1: don't worry, the problem will solve; 38.4: find something that soothes your mind; 38.6: the pressure will go.

The lines 1 & 6 of hexagram 38 change, so the opposition will fade soon and you'll collect yourself (7).

Good luck

Thank you very much for your interpretation. The problem continues so far, but I believe your understanding of the reading is helpful. :) My GP is on the case!
