referee dilemma 6>57

I applied for a job, passed the interview and will be successful in getting the job if my references check out.
The job is with an organisation I was successful with some months back but I didn't accept the job as I was going through a trauma at the time and they terminated the offer after 3 months which I think is fair enough.
However they have to go through the process of checking my references with the same referees which everyone thinks is a bit silly (including the people working for the organisation) but that's just protocol and noone can change the process.
The problem I've come up against is the referees are refusing to give a reference again, one in particular, who sent me a text saying too bad, once is enough which means I potentially won't get the job without her cooperation.

How will her lack of cooperation affect my application

Hexagram 6.3.4>57

It sounds like there's no point in pursuing a reference from her and to just let things work themselves out.

In the interim I have provided them with an alternative referee but I'm wondering what will happen given it's been frustrating and time wasting for my potential employers.

Yes there isn't any point in chasing it up at all. Line 3 shows that your own values may not match the values prevalent in the environment yet it is however right to stick to your values even though it may bring you conflict. But when it does bring conflict here just let it be. Line 4 also suggests you just let it go as it goes.

But the question was how will her lack of co-operation affect your application ? Hard to say but as the answer seems to suggest you not minding then possibly you won't get the job. Then again you still might get it, even without recognition business is completed in line 3.

Thanks Trojina - there's a lot of inner Conflict surrounding the whole dynamics from having to look for another job to the way this referee behaved in the past when I was working for her....in my mind she should be doing whatever she can to help me out. I don't want this job particularly but as I'm getting to the stage of barely being able to feed myself I have to find something quickly. I'm in the midst of preparing to launch my own business at the end of October but right now it's not making me any money.

I did get offered the chance to become employed with this organisation after a LOT of issues in getting reference checks. The problem is they can offer me only 2 - 3 hours a week and said I can't work for anyone else....WTH!

Then tell them that your wage for the 2-3 hours must be enough that you can make a living of it ;)
Otherwise it's a bad joke. Unbelievable.
Hm, at least you can see it in a positive way: Now you have your papers together and can use them for your next move.. The chance that they invite you for an interview will be higher if you send your reference checks with your application, I guess.

I've had the interview and the reference checks and they've offered me the chance to work for their organisation. I have to sign a contract with them saying I WON'T work anywhere else. The wage is pretty good BUT the job is a 90 minute turn around each 2-3 hours.
