What will he (my producer) think of the script changes I made?

12.4>20

I was recently called upon by my producer to help out on a RomCom script. It was written by him and another writer, and it's a tricky business making changes in such circumstances. There's the issue of stepping on toes, especially when you aren't particularly drawn to the storyline and 40 percent of it's not in your native language or culture and some of the humor can be lost on you.

However, I persisted, and I have found my way into it. I sent him the first third and was feeling a little buoyed by the fact that I managed to create a more complete and, I think, less... No let's say, mature tone.

When I cast hex 12, I froze. My history with this hex hasn't been stellar, but I tried to stick with it. I have not, to my recollection, had line 4 before.

Looking back in the archives... Found sort of contradictory takes. I could see hex 12 describing different approaches or views or even just referring to the cultural divide. 4 sounds positive to me, but others experienced a separation or departure of sorts. If there is any departure here, I hope it's referring to improvements. Departing from what wasn't working to what, hopefully, now is a more coherent flow.

Am I on the right track? Ah, the writer 's condition... Seems we are always asking that one.

Hi beatpoet,

"What will he (my producer) think of the script changes I made?"
12.4>20 ~ He will like what he sees.

From Adler's "The Original Meaning of the Yijing":

Line 4: 9 in the fourth: With the Decree, there is no blame. Companions who stick together will have blessings.

While the obstruction is passing through is the moment when it is about to end. 9 in the fourth is a yang line occupying a yin position, not maximally firm. Therefore the prognostication is "there is a decree, no blame," and the similar yang lines will all obtain happiness. "Decree" means the Decree [Mandate] of Heaven.

Image 4: "With the Decree, there is no blame." One's purpose will be carried out.

So, my read is that the changes will be well-received and that all three of you will be happy!

All Best!
