17-63 -Submit novel to Publisher? Please Help!

Hello ellow Seekers,

I was hoping for some of my old pals here to jump in and answer my last question on my novel - since It's really important. But here I am again beacuse I've heard from a third source interested in my novel - Foreign Flavours. New Concepts Publishing. The other two looking at the book are top literary agents in New York. What if either of them decide to sign me? Therefore my dilemma - I asked what if I send my novel to New Concepts Publsihing and got hex. 17 lines 3 and 4 changing to 63. What do I do? Just tell NC that two agents are looking at it too? Or just send without saying anything about the others? Please help. This is most important to me.

Mathematical method:
General sense: Not a good choice... you could put in danger the publication of your novel. But i need the exactly day when you made the question, to examinate if there are some exceptional rules to apply to this answer.

I think hexagram 17 is about following what you know is virtuous, your ideal or inner "great man", in combination with line 4 I would definitely do what you think is the right thing to do. I think that would be to inform the new party that the ms is already under evaluation. And line 3 could indicate that you will loose one of the parties because of following your principles. This could mean you get to choose between two and are recommended to choose the one closest to your principles.
I would vote for this new one, the old ones sound like:
1. (line 5 of 28) an old firm that wants to hire you (the young blossom), yet is not fertile and productive anymore, maybe an old-fashioned one that wants you to get a "trendy" image, and won't do you much good
2. (line 6 of 28) the other firm, that will force you to give up your principles if you want to work for them.

We're no old pals, but maybe it is of use!

Hi Anita,
Do I remember correctly that one of the publishers you have already sent your book to required you give him an exclusive or something? Maybe this talk about principals is advising you not to show your book to anyoe else befor you complete that agreement? Would there be a problem if the new people wanted to publish AND the people you had promised an exclusive did too?

Jesed - I asked the question on 18th June - that's when I heard from New Concepts Publishing. Any suggestions? Really appreciate your help.

Femke, Wow, that will be miraculous if all three want me eventuallY! You are right I think in your suggestions. You see Trident Media Group is HUGe, and William Clark very reputed too - maybe I oughta check which one is older! Both are still to get back to me. I think I oughta just tell New Concepts the truth and then see where it goes because it may complicate things otherwise. They have not asked if I've submitted elsewhere but my principles and common sense tell me to be up front.

Rosada, yep, I've already got Trident along with Clark taht wants an exclusive look. So no point getting a third one into the picture. Except, of course, that I will not give Clark an indefinite exclusive! Just a couple of months at the most. However, Trident is really the Cream.

Mathematical method

a) Anita is in Dragon. Produced by the month but destroyed by the day. This means she is in a good season, but with some obstacles inb the short term.
b) The publisher is in Goat. Produced by the month but destroyed by the day. Goat is Void element (imposibility to act in the short term)
c) The key aspect of the question
1.- If it is the Book (the posibility to publish), is under aspect father, in Pig. Destroyed by the month and reduced by the day. It combines with Tiger (under aspect Brothers... another publisher). This means the posibility to publishing this book under the circumstances of the question is quite low.
2.- If it is the Money, is under aspect Wife, in Goat. Is void (see the publisher analysis). Not making money in the short term
3.- I If it is getting fame or recognition is under aspect Husband, in Rooster. Destroyed by the month. Not good posibilities.
e) Active Lines. There are 2 active lines:
Line 3. Is the consultant. She moves from Dragon to Pig (the book)..this means she spend money to publish her book. The consequence in in combination with Tiger (competitioners, another publisher).
Line 4. Is the Book... moves in combination with Tiger, the consequence is Monkey reinforcing the original movement
f) Combos. There are no combos
g) Graves. The consultant is the Grave of the Book (under this circumstances); and the publisher is the grave of collegues.

Conclusion: Bad idea to send youir novel to this puiblisher. You would only spend your money, and puting in risk the publication.

Thank you so much Jesed. I did not submit to New Concepts - which, by the way does not appear to be a vanity publisher, but maybe it is! I do not like the idea of vnity publishing. Anyway, I wrote and told them the truth that otehr agents are looking at the work. Thanks so much.
