Hello all :bows:
I see people asking Yi about meanings of dreams they had - I mostly know what my dreams warn me about because I dream of people in a good way or a bad way and the general feeling left afterwards tells me the gest of it.
But this is the first time I have ever dreamed of an I Ching hexagram specificaly, a week ago maybe.
It was an confusing, busy dream I cannot recall at all clearily other than I was helping an family to escape; it was an unusual bunch - circus people or some kind of royality because I distinctly remember saying to myself during the dream: "This is hexagram 20. And the 5th line is the royal line."
Mind you, I dont know that line by heart nor all hexes by heart yet
Just found this thread and seen that I thanked Hilary`s post while ago :) http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/friends/showthread.php?t=1553

Contemplation of his life.
The superior man is without blame.

While the preceding line represents a man who contemplates himself, here in the highest place everything that is personal, related to the ego, is excluded. The picture is that of a sage who stands outside the affairs of the world. Liberated from his ego, he contemplates the laws of life and so realizes that knowing how to become free of blame is the highest good.
Wilhelm

Line 5 is strong, and in the place of the ruler. He is a superior man, but this does not relieve him from the duty of self-contemplation or examination.Legge
...and so on:rolleyes:
must be that I have recognised the bustle as related to my own and I need to contemplate upon my own doings and reactions towards others and make corrections...
If anyone reads and would like to comment, welcome :bows:

That is interesting.... dreaming of the Yi. It could mean so many things. Usually my dreams relate to what was on my mind at the time, so do you recall what you were thinking of right before bed? Perhaps, there is a question you have had in your mind that you just haven't asked consciously, so the Yi is answering you somehow in your sleep... Why not? Helping a family escape? And A circus performer? I use to read about dream interpretation a lot, and I believe circus performers can be similar to the fool, an archetype in Jung's thinking. And family suggests they are part of you and the word collective comes to mind. I wonder if this dream is showing you these archetypes competing for expression and in your unconscious wisdom honed in on line 5 as the highest expression, sage like and wise. Like you were contemplating these parts of the universal mind and decided line 5 was the way to deal with this. Does that make sense to anyone? Hope this is useful...
