Hello, Good People of Clarity!

I have been a long time lurker and slowly processing Yi, learning her language, and seeing hexagrams and lines come to life, and understanding in the oddest places numbers present themselves. I have never posted here as I am highly introverted and love the threads that unfold and also find them very energetically overwhelming at times. Usually, I can make some sense intuitively even if I can't articulate it. The lack of ability to articulate has led me to not post, however, this one has left me so perplexed and my desire to know is strong enough I am overcoming myself and posting...Yay!

Mine has been a very strange life with a lot of unusual challenges and an unfolding that is a bit backward as well perhaps. I have never been ready until now to even mentally entertain the notion of desiring a stable committed relationship and have spent a good deal of my life in solitude exploring everything but romantic relationships. I am an attractive fit woman in my late 40's who looks like I'm in my mid-'30s.

Now that I am ready (I think) to explore a stable committed relationship I am working on the changes necessary to have a different experience I asked the question that was something like "what steps do I need to take to find a partner, allow for a partner, make room for a partner etc."

I did not write it down verbatim so I had to reconstruct once I decided to post. Sorry.

Ontologically I tend to believe you ready yourself inside and then it comes outside, I can't hunt a man down like I am trying to bag a deer, now would I want to. As a personality, I tend to not focus on the physical, I am very cerebral and like to focus (too much on my mind, ennegram 5 for anyone who knows). Even with the little effort I still attract people (which is indicated in my birth chart as a lot of latent "sexual" energy to be worked with) but I have never been comfortable with too much attention and this somewhat results in a lethargy around adorning myself too frequently.

I am seeing now that this is not healthy for me in many ways and I need to make changes there as well. So I found this reading really confusing. The only line missing is the one about small rolls of silk etc. I can't tell if it is saying release superficial notions or the opposite, release my inner beauty externally, or many other things. All the lines seem very gentle and about showing what is beautiful and I don't know how to understand this at all. I would appreciate any help. Thanks ever so much!

22 to 40.

Line 1

'Making your feet beautiful.
Putting away the carriage and going on foot.'

Line 2

'Making your hair beautiful.'

Line 3

'Beautiful, as if dipped in water.
Ever-flowing constancy, good fortune.'

Line 4

'Beautiful like pure white,
Like a soaring white horse.
Not a robber, but a marital ally.'

Line 6

'White beauty.
No mistake.'

Hello Fanoozus. I may have missed it, but I didn't see what your question is? Maybe something to do with relationships?

Kindly, D.

Sorry, it was tucked in there.

"What steps do I need to take to find a partner, allow for a partner, make room for a partner etc."

with the understanding that it is not like an a,b,c steps thing, more like shifts "what can I work on energetically".

For some reason this song came to mind, fanoozus. Perhaps you'll find an answer in one the lines of the song.

Your change patterns here are yang 14 and yin 8. Change patterns are the hexagrams the change lines make if you first make them all yang, the yang pattern and then all yin, the yin pattern. You can see them right there hidden in the cast hexagram. If you look at your 22 cast you will see the pattern of 14, and, less easy to see the pattern for 8.

These aren't necessary to use at all but they can add a little dimension in readings like this. This reading calls out to me as 'make the most of what you've got'. What's bought you to the reading is what you have, what you possess, the word 'inventory' comes to mind and there's a lot there. 8 as yin pattern suggest the way through this is to give what you have, giving as in choosing to join in and committing.

Your cast 22.1.2.3.4.6>8 is full of beauty, beauty in every line. I think we can take it you have beauty and of course the yang pattern is 'Big Having'. But 22 shows us beauty isn't just there to look nice and please it serves a purpose of revealing what is beneath, attracting, changing things by appearances. And then there's 40, not a time to spend in any kind of hesitation, a time to let things go or to move forward. It says if you have a place to go then go, if you don't then don't. Perhaps you need to fully own your beauty if you feel a bit remote from it.

Even with the little effort I still attract people (which is indicated in my birth chart as a lot of latent "sexual" energy to be worked with) but I have never been comfortable with too much attention and this somewhat results in a lethargy around adorning myself too frequently.

I think it's a problem for women, especially young women, when too much attention is so oppressive it can almost feel a burden to have beauty or one becomes distanced from one's beauty as if it belongs to others. If other people are staring or making comments it can make one feel as if one's own body is just an object to be curated. Unfortunately I think this can shut things down. Perhaps you need to open things up again by enjoying and inhabiting your own beauty as yours. And yes perhaps do some actual adorning especially because what one is adorned with does affect mood and self perception quite a lot.

That's my impression of the cast, there could certainly be other ways to view it but it seems a very light cast, it almost says 'lighten up (22), let go(40) or 'beautify, let go'. As a sentence it's 'Adorning's Release' or 'Beauty's Release'. You have to let that beauty fly.

Thanks so much, Trojina, I really appreciate your reply and insight. This is what I was feeling intuitively, both from the reading and in other ways, that I actually need to cultivate embodying more and come in, like way in, deep down to my toes(ugh,o_O:)), and really attend expressing the internal physically in a loving and nurturing way, not shrink from it. I was unsure as it seems 22 could go either way, and it could have been read as "release superficiality" or "release beauty."

Well, I do have my work cut out for me, however, at least I know what the work is and I am so very grateful for your time. Thanks again so much. If I have anything to share as a result of the reading and interpretation I will come back and post. I also feel animated to learn more, the way you explain the change patterns here (and that I actually understand what they are saying is super cool, thank you!) It is easy to feel overwhelmed by thousands of years of iteration, however, it is very cool to see how things start to gel over time just by showing up and joining in the dialogue. Now it is time to get more systematic and intentional.

Incidentally, before I knew anyone replied, I did a little bit of scouring and found a Spanish treatment on the site that essentially says what you say in a different way. I am putting it here in case anyone else finds themselves here and speaks Spanish. It is part of a longer translated thread on 22 that is lovely.

Thank you again!

Parafraseando apenas a Kahlil Gibran:

‘La belleza es la eternidad contemplándose a sí misma en los espejos. Pero ustedes son la eternidad y ustedes son los espejos.’

22. Create a vision.
Make a check list or drawing of everything you are hoping for in a man.
40. Release it.
Post your list on your bathroom mirror with the footnote: "This or someone better."
