Hi all,

Long time since I've posted a question on here... I'm angry. Fuming. I received a message from my spouse, really upset me. I asked Iching "how should I feel about this message?" I was thinking I would get 12 or 39. Or even some advice on how I should respond or deal with this, even though that's not what I asked. What are your thoughts? Honestly the only thing I can think line 3- "beautiful as if dipped in water", is like its saying "good job blue angel for not blowing a gasket on impulse and coming for advice first". 27- seeking nourishment before deciding, 22- its all superficial nonsense not to be worried about? I definitely don't feel "beautiful as if dipped in water" that thought makes me laugh. So perhaps iching is being humorous with me.

So then I ask, "how should I respond to this message? " answer, 22.3.5>42. I will come back and give my own interpretation, I am just too upset to do it now. Which is why I post. Hoping for some of your insight and clarity to calm me... almost the same answer... is line 5, simply saying its not as big of a deal as I am making it out to be?

Thank you,

"good job blue angel for not blowing a gasket on impulse and coming for advice first".
I think you got it right ! its about responding vs reacting . Hex 27 its about what we take in and send out , so doing it according to your standards , keeping your composure , its how i would read it .

42 , seems to be in the same line. Its not easy to identify who is the subject of 22.5 but refraining from reacting might give you sometime to think ; something is less that one would wish , but yi say its ok, its the intention it counts

hope it helps a bit

eta: maybe those reading give you another perspective how to read the frustrating message , in a 42 way.

Yes, I'm much more calm now that I've read thoroughly over the readings. Amazes me every time how accurate the Iching is. Thank you for your response, it does help a lot, as it is true, and something I hadn't considered. "The intention that counts"...

So, I should go with the flow, as a river does? Being all wet can be fun or annoying... depending how you see it. How does being wet make one beautiful? If the sun is glistening off of you I suppose or you were baptised in the river. Could it be saying if the river is raging, let it rage. Or all wet as in flowing tears? The beauty of feeling and allowing ones self to feel? Please elaborate on your thoughts.

if you wanna think outside of the box of the typical 22 imagery, 'fuming' is a very good alternative. Having a strong fire but containing it - either because you 'd rather not expose it, or in order to put it to a different, more worthy use- is yet another great way of understanding what fire under mountain means.

either way, good luck with it!

Thank you Anemos. I am in mourning... everything has gone from bad to worse. Even when I tried to make the best of it and not let it affect me. The joy of pain.

At least some higher force thinks I'm beautiful as if dipped in water.

Backing up a little bit, I've never connected how I felt "charming" or graceful (W/B) in any way connected with line 3. I typically felt more as you'd described. I was not even in a good mood, and though the logic seems odd, yes, I guess I was fuming over something more than tip-toeing through the tulips. However, seeing this gave me incentive to try and perk up my countenance, which is why perseverance brings good fortune.

In electric guitar playing gear there is a dry output and a wet output. The dry is crisp, defined, snappy, while the wet output carries switchable effects, such as reverb, vibrato, echo, phase shifting, chorus - the pretty stuff. Too much pretty stuff drowns out the punch and clarity of the notes, washes them together, This is how I see line 3.

River came to mind because a river has a an open mouth, like 27, and like the mouth of a river, nourishment goes in and also out with the tide, just as food and drink goes in and our words come out. I think it reminds us to go easy on the effects and keep it crisp and clear.

Just a thought.....for me 22.3 has tended to come up when I am quite enchanted by my part in something...you know like when you are drunk sometimes you feel you are talking a lot of sense and later you realise you weren't. 22.3 has come up when I was really getting carried away by pleasing social experience, being well reacted to. I'd say there was much narcissism in this line...not necessarily in a bad way but one has to enjoy the charm whilst it lasts and know there is a bit of a movie star feel to it :flirt: It's kind of like being the belle of the ball for the night or whatever

How the heck can this apply to you being so mad ? The only think I can think of was if it were in some way describing the behaviour of your spouse ? I wondered if he were acting in a narcissistic way, if he drinks a lot, if he's being self centred ? This is a long shot I know...but it's just a thought.

If it did apply to his behaviour, he will shortly come to earth. The charm does vanish like Cinderella's carriage (?) Charm makes the birds and bees do their thing and look shiny....and all has a shiny gloss in 22.3 but there is a time when the curtain rises and it's ordinary daylight again. I wondered if he had had a bit of craziness or something...or arrogance...or is a bit in love with himself and that what made you mad ?

oh while I'm on a roll ..well this answer applies to you not him clearly, I see 22.5 as often a message which addresses sense of self worth....you have to keep it up there BlueAngel, you self esteem that is. 42 is so often about generosity...you can afford to be generous to him, and presumably not reacting to him being an ass **** is a kind of genererosity....but there's that 22.3 again which is pretty much a puzzle here

....now I'm wondering if that 22.3 in the previous answer indicates that he is kind of dazzled by you, doesn't see you clearly but hmmm that is getting a bit random.

In general though it might help us understand if you could give an idea of what it is about that message, that was so infuriating ? I mean you don't have to go into detail, just broadly speaking ?

Adding my two cents after all the excellent comments here, BlueAngel.

I often get 22 with various lines changing, or not. For me, 22.3 suggests staying poised, staying fluid, not seizing up. Seizing up or getting uptight indicate stopping your flow, drying out, becoming static.

The river suggests fluidity in movement and fluidity in thought. Is there some way you can "dance" the issue with your spouse in a way that would resolve it? Finding a mutually satisfactory solution might be considered Nourishment.

Getting 22 twice might indicate that your position in this is better than you think. You're sitting pretty.

I am sorry it took me so long to reply. Thank you all from my heart. You people are a bunch of geniuses. Truly.

Torjan-you made it all connect. Its all of the above, that you said. With the exception of him being dazzled by me. I guess he could be, but I think that ship has sailed. I don't say much, well because as silly as it may sound, I feel as though I would be betraying him. He doesn't like the dirty laundry out in the open. But with all you said, I wouldn't be surprised if you were a fairy sitting in the corner of our room last night. I feel as though sometimes he just likes to stir things up. Sometimes for excitement. Get a rise out of me. Make sure we're still alive. Sometimes he's being a monkey, a trickster. It can be funny and cute, in an ass **** sort of way, but if I'm not prepared, he can really hurt my damn feelings. He's the only one left laughing. Then he's completely shocked that I'm so upset, and doesn't realize he took it too far, or that it just wasn't funny. He can be quite arrogant, I do wonder if he's inlove with himself, at times. Yet, my terrible way of coping that I haven't been able to get out of, is pretending its all a bed of roses or walking
around with rose colored glasses. So it all
reflects. Gives me plenty to think about. The
best part is you made me laugh and then
smile. I feel like I owe you money. :)

Sooo- I always enjoy reading what you have written. Even if at first I did not connect, after I read what Trojan wrote, I re-read what you
wrote again. Its very good advice and I was
finally able to connect with that as well.

Poised- I hope so :) at times we are very much dancing, fluidly. Other times finding a mutual solution seems close to impossible and scares me I guess, cause I don't want to stop dancing...

Thank you all. Today is a new day and although the road still feels a bit rocky, the boulders seem to have been removed. If nothing else you all gave me some peace, comfort, clarity.

Blessings,

Blue_Angel

Maybe 22.3 and definitely too sexy for his bathing suit. Possibly a function of overdoing 27

hey Bruce,
thanks for backing up my fire/fuming idea (the second of which was actually inspired by Lise's notes o22 as moxibustion ;)). Seems that some good ole trigram discussion falls too heavy around here these days

Hi Dora,

My first attempt at introducing myself to LiSe (a decade or so ago) was sending a white sage smudge bundle and a conch shell. Unfortunately, neither reached her through faithful UPS. The thought meant as much to her, I think, but I later sent a second smudge stick, which arrived. Pretty sure that would qualify as an act of grace, beauty and life-healing. It was both wet and dry, or perhaps the gift was dry while the sentiment was wet. If I went too heavy on the sentiment, perhaps it could qualify as a line 3 act, but as it was, it was pure 22, or 22.6. In fact, it was my first association with plants and 22, and it just so happened to be white sage.

Not sure what you mean by trigram discussion falling too heavy. Do you mean too much or too little of it? Or something else?

I definitely appreciated each and every post. It was all very helpful and enlightening.
Anemos- got things rolling with me keeping my composure and (27) the need to pay attention to what I take in and send out. Had I followed this advice a little better things might not have escalated. They would've resolved on their own. (Pick your fights) comes to mind. :stir:

Rodaki- Truth of the moment was I was fuming and trying to contain it.

Sooo- Too much pretty stuff drowns out the punch and clarity of the notes. Go easy on the effects and keep it crisp and clear. (Maybe overall I needed to take off my rose colored glasses for the both of us, so we could once again connect on a deeper level, and enjoy what's within. Our essence.)

Trojan- still just happened to be the one I could really understand, the one that brought me into the light. Drinking is often involved, I am often charmed by the movie star :flirt:, the movie star knows it, so he that much more thinks he's a movie star. But when he starts dancing around in his speedo infront of our friends, acting like a drunk fool, I start fuming, especially because there is a huge possibility he will take his speedo off and continue dancing.:bag: Letting it all hang out. I have to bring us back to earth, be crisp, and clear, and remind him he's not really a movie star. Its only me that loves his speedo and everything that's hanging out, and I only love it, because I love the essence, what's inside.

I can always be (42) generous, and allow him to dance around naked. After all he is enjoying himself. I am learning to do this now. No real harm is done. The only time real harm is done, is when I fail to really follow the advice, I tell him, put your clothes on, you're not a movie star, his feelings are hurt, and then he roars like a lion. Then I'm hurt by the roar. :weep:Or more like startled. :eek:uch:At the end of the day, we still nourish each other (27) and this has been consistent with time.

Poised- I guess I could be less uptight, that may very well be the solution. Be more fluid. Have a few drinks myself, put on my bikini, and dance with him.:D I'm sure he would like that, of course, I would have to allow him to be the star of the show. Then I would be sitting pretty. At least in his eyes.

After Trojan's post I was able to see clearly the situation, for what it is, the reality. Then I was able to laugh about it, because I understood it, could learn by it, and let it go. Without Trojan I wouldn't have been able to go back and see exactly how each and every post was valuable. :)Provided another angle, perspective. All with the same essence. Altogether, telling my story. Like a puzzle, each person brought a piece to it, and amazingly it all fit. Now the song playing in my head... "I can see clearly now the rain is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way... its gona be a bright sun shiny day"

Since the post was brought back up... I had asked a little later, "how are we now?" As in how are we doing together, are we connecting, are we seeing eye to eye, has this really resolved?" Answer, 22.1.3.5.6>8.
Wow! First time for me to get a repeated hexagram like this. I've had very few twice, but never three times. So I'm living in the land of 22. I decided to read up in Exploring Divination, one of Rosada's old threads. It was GREAT, I enjoyed every minute of it. But then... I usually do.

Love to ALL of you,

Hi Dora,

Not sure what you mean by trigram discussion falling too heavy. Do you mean too much or too little of it? Or something else?

I was thinking that the thread had gotten a bit too wound up with the wording of the line and was possibly missing more layers of the Yi-onion . . trigrams make up one such layer, just like line position does . . and then there's also looking into the wording itself; I recall reading somewhere (possibly Lise again?) that the word 'beautiful' actually means 'energetic' while getting wet in Yi brings to mind either release (as in rain) or embarrassment (as in 64) . . or maybe it brings both. Personally, I have found that the most important part of this line has been the one about perseverance in the midst of rapidly changing/ unstable circumstances, so that hints to me that instead of flow, there's also focus on what remains, what doesn't change

(I didn't mean to pun to any fat heavy guys in speedos, btw, lol)

Count it in as thinking out loud . . that was a great 22 story you gave us there and thanks for sharing :)

p.s.: blueangel, glad you found your way out of your bad state, take care!
