Never a cast has been more literal for me... (Stripping the Jaws?)

I'm having a really bad toothache for 3 weeks, after a filling. I consulted another dentist and he told me I have to go for a Root Canal of my 27 tooth but I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do (he himself admitted he wasn't sure if that tooth was the problem or my wisdom tooth)

I have asked the I Ching: " Is the root canal procedure at tooth 27 necessary / the right thing to do?"
And I get 23.1 to 27. Stripping the Jaws.

My confusion stems from the fact that Line 1 sounds very bad for doing anything, which could lead to a disaster. And also about how it is important following your instinct.
At the same time it talks about influences that are rotting things from the bottom to the roof, exactly as it happens with a dying tooth.

Please guys give me a hand here. Should I "Strip" this tooth? Or Stripping would "cause evil"?

Thank you so much.

I'm not a fan of root canal as it's super costly and it doesn't necessarily last but having said that it does sound like there's an issue.
Line 1 sounds more like to not rely on that opinion in this case and rely on your own intuition which sounds like you're doing....it doesn't feel right to you.
I remember my ex husband years ago, had so much pain in his wisdom tooth, the dentist suggested the same thing as yours. Sent him home with some antibiotics, the pain went and he never had pain again.
Maybe ask a follow up question. Also with all the medication and supplements you've been taking it's potentially messing up your immune system.
Antibiotics and pain killers can strip you of vitamins and minerals - google the specific medicine and see.

Thank you, Ontheroad.

I'm fully aware that antibiotics and pain killers are not the solution of the problem, since the minute I stop them the pain comes back. I just took them while waiting for the appointment, cause the pain was intense and I didn't want to risk an infection.

I eventually did the root canal yesterday as an attempt to solve the situation.
The dentist said the tooth was extremely inflamed and it had to be done in any case.

The pain is still there today, so I guess that was just part of the problem. I asked "What shall I do to make this pain stop?" and got 46 UC. It talks about the root of a tree growing inside earth, pushing upwards. I'm taking it as either the root of my tooth being the problem or the wisdom tooth itself. I'll give an update as soon as I find a solution.

Thank you again for your answer.

Yes that's what antibiotics are good for!! A couple of years ago I had a mouth infection....hooly dooly the whole side of my face was like a balloon. The doctor put me on 2 different antibiotics and panadeine forte. I was SICK but had to do what I had to do to get well asap. Our mouth is close to brain so gotta be careful with inflammation and germs.

Just to give a (late) follow up: the pain completely stopped after 2 days and never came back, my gums which had been very inflamed for months healed completely, the root canal procedure was a 100% success. So "stripping the jaws" was absolutely the right thing to do, at least in my case.

I find 46 often is advising the situation requires patience, which would fit with getting 46 for what GreenHazel should do to make the pain stop and then two days later it stopped. Thanks so much for updating!

The Bach flower remedy Impatience helps in 46 type situations.

Yes, but it’s all my handwritten notes so a pain to type them out. I’ll start a thread over on the Exploring Divination forum and see how far I get. Was there a specific hexagram you are curious about? Thanks for asking!
