23.5 and 11.2 on buying a house

Hi all,

I cast these readings two weeks ago, though much has happened since. I've been looking to buy a house for a couple years now-- dealing with finances and searching for the right place in my price range... Recently, I found such a house, so I asked the IC...

general advice (should I make an offer? do I have a shot at getting it?) 23.5>20
Would it be good investment and a happy home for the long-term future? 11.2 > 36

Since then I pulled together financing for the loan (with some help from my family) and made an offer which came in second place out of seven. So I'm in "back up" position, waiting on the other buyer's decision. I asked about my chances at this point and got 36.4.6 > 30. I took that as a no, though maybe it related to other events. Yesterday, my current landlord gave me news that he needs to move back into my rental and I need to be out in two months. So now I'm more than desperate about buying this house!!! And a friend died tragically last week so I'm feeling fried emotionally. There's just a lot coming all at once.

Any interpretations of these readings? I've asked the usual repetitive questions, but know that the first few casts are the ones that matter. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but any advice would be appreciated.

A really good line, a magical place for you and yours!

Line 6 has to do with the sun rising out of the darkness. Line 4 is somewhat obscure to me right now...I think it speaks to the darkness and your embrace of it, suggesting you not rush right out and try to find your way out of darkness right now, but wait for events--the sun rising in Line 6.

Lots of deals fall through these days, so hang in there.

Would it be good investment and a happy home for the long-term future? 11.2 > 36****I was wondering about the neighbours because that would have a strong bearing on how you would feel. It suggests unseen problems with this house, something you either haven't noticed or are unaware of at present.

Yes, your take on 23.5 is very much how the offer went-- lots of help from my family. I'm very fortunate for that. And I had the same feeling about 36.6. In the past it's usually signaled the end of a difficult time. 36.4 seemed like the house might not be a great idea, though this was cast just days before I learned I'm being booted from my rental (leaving gate and courtyard). This rental is in the forest where trees block out the light; the house I hope to buy is up on a hill with skylights and tons of sun. Hard to say at this point, though interesting that the reading goes from hidden brightness to double brightness. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. The first buyers have until the end of the month to decide so I'll know soon enough...

Thanks, WF. I think you're spot on about the neighbors. This place has a homeowners association which could be problematic. Even if we get the house, we'd have to look into the legal implications very carefully.

Your take on 36>30 is a good dose of realism. I do not want to feel heartbroken next week. The situation wouldn't be so bad if my landlord didn't have such exquisitely bad timing. Feels like I've lost my safety net, though trying to remember that things often happen for a good reason. Will update when I know more...

36.4, someone's darkened heart. 36.6, sometimes difficult to interpret. But the auspice of H36 as a whole is that persistence in the face of difficulties will bring reward. The relating hexagram seems to say you were/are hoping for a synergistic relationship with someone else?

Good investment and happy home? 11.2 > 36. Something about this I just don't 'get.' Unless you are protecting or helping someone else without that person's knowledge of what you're doing.

It can certainly be difficult to sort it all out ... Especially at times when we have a lot on our minds ... When it rains it pours, as the expression goes.

Thanks for the advice and kind words, Ginnie. Yes I do believe Yi is referring to things beyond my understanding at present. I'm trying to let this particular house go for now and look at other options-- both rentals and potential purchases. I think Yi is nudging me to buy as I had 23.2.6 > 7 for renting and 14.2.3.5.6 > 17 for buying. Two great looking houses popped up on the listings today. One is just a bit out of my price range: 26.4.6 > 34, and the other is affordable but small: 13.5 > 30. The small one would seem best by those readings but it might have some seismic issues. I've put in calls to my realtor and mortgage broker so we'll see what happens...
