24 Fu - Turning point?

I've been considering moving home for quite some months. I've been generally looking at the property market but not being proactive. Some personal issues have held me back.

The other day an odd thing occurred. Quite by chance I found a perfect house. I found it because I took a detour to my journey. I had a strong urge to drive down a tiny road that I have known for a years. At the end of the road was the house. I've viewed it twice since finding it, even though it is more expensive than my given budget. The outcome being I want to buy it but am not sure how I can afford it.

I asked the Yi two questions: What will be the consequences for me if I put in an offer? and: How will I find the money to buy it?

Both my readings were almost identical. 24 Fu changing line 1 in the first reading, and 1&5 in second reading. Relating 8.

I think the readings are positive and suggesting I go in with an offer. But not to be too hasty. My intuition is telling me to be cautious and yet I feel the house will wait for me.

What do you experienced diviners think?
Best wishes as ever

I'm an experienced diviner. lol lol

"Quite by chance I found a perfect house."

Yeah, okay. But 'by chance' doesn't mean that chaos was operative. It just means that you weren't intending anything.

"I asked the Yi two questions: What will be the consequences for me if I put in an offer?

24 Fu changing line 1 in the first reading."

24.1's lovely. It suggests that if you put in an offer, you will somehow be returning to square one, getting back to base and where you belong, and allowing a very important cycle to initiate itself. That's really good news.

"and: How will I find the money to buy it?

"and 1&5 in second reading."

This suggests that the required funding will rally itself round the project.

"I think the readings are positive and suggesting I go in with an offer. But not to be too hasty. "

Go in with an offer, yeah. But there's no need for delay or caution. When you draw Hex 24, you're getting back to where you belong. Why put obstacles in the way of that? Hex 24 doesn't counsel caution; it counsels trust in a time of timeliness.

"My intuition is telling me to be cautious"

That's probably not your intuition talking. It's probably your fear of committing thousands and thousands of dollars or pounds to a great big purchase.

"and yet I feel the house will wait for me."

You can feel this, but it's not what Hex 24's saying. Hex 24 doesn't say that things will wait for you. And the Yi generally doesn't say that things will wait for you. In fact, the Yi says that things are constantly changing. Another name for the Yi is: The Window of Opportunity.

Dobro I much appreciate your input.

Your comments of 'you will somehow be returning to square one'. And 'you're getting back to where you belong' are very perceptive.

What I did not include in my initial posting is this. The house is situated in a town in which I lived happily for 11 years. I left the town by choice over 2 years ago, but to my ongoing surprise, I've missed being there. Even though I've built a good social / work life in my new environment.

In the past months, a surprising number of situations have presented themselves resulting in my need to continually return to the town. Only this morning I've received two unexpected e-mails from contacts in the town. One asking me to take on some work there and one inviting me to a social event.

I've thought of little else in the past couple of days other than about the house. And returning to my 'roots' which is how I view the town. The truth is I was never happier than living there even though I have lived and travelled in many other places. The only decision I can come to is to put in an offer... and hope I can afford to buy the house!

Best wishes

Hi Zelda - I'd like to offer an alternative interpretation of your readings.

24.1 is in my opinion about going in a particular direction and at an early stage deciding that it is not the direction to go. One then returns, while it is not yet too late.

So in your case that would mean contemplating buying that house, perhaps even making an offer, but not following through on actually spending the money on it. The money that you actually don't have. This interpretation goes with both of your readings.

24.5 is about returning with the best of feelings, which is what would happen if you decide to not buy the house.

Hi Ewald, your interpretation is equally appreciated by me. I can understand your explanation. I thank you for helping me try to get a clear picture of my way ahead.

Today I avoided going in with a definite offer on the house (prior to reading your posting). I'm still working out the math on the situation. When the agent phoned me she said she can await my decision into the middle of next week. Valuable thinking / consulting time for me.

Best wishes

Gee, Ewald's take on it has opened up a whole new possibility for interpreting that line. I'm gonna mull this for a while. But Zeldiac, your adding the information about how it's a town you return to again and again really explains a lot about why you drew 24 to your question.

Dobro - I'm translating 24.1 as:

Not far, and returning.
Disrespect is regretted.
A source of good fortune.
I'm taking that second sentence as saying something like: "Sorry, I won't do it," or "Sorry, but I quit and go back."

Yes, Ewald, I see your take on it, and I think it's a good one. I'd missed that interpretation completely, and had instead read the house offer as getting back to where Zeldiac belonged. But now I see that both are really possible interpretations.

So, Zeldiac, help me out - which is it lol? In your case, is 24.1 about getting back to where you belong by buying the house, or is it about getting back to where you belong by quickly abandoning the idea of buying the house? :)

Hi Zeldiac:

I think it's interesting that you did something a little different - and this happened.

Just another take on 24.
It means Return - returning to perhaps an earlier cycle in your life.
Have there been situations where you "leaped" into something that may not have been practical, and later regretted it?

I'm not saying that's it. Just a thought to take a look at how you may have made big decisions in the past (financial, personal, etc.) and are you about to repeat something again which may be good for you or may not be good for you.

It could also mean that you want to return to a certain time in your life and this house represents something symbolic, rather than the concrete, actual house you see.

All of your input is brilliant. The full situation is this. As mentioned, I lived in the area I want to return to for 11 years. I left by choice over 2 years ago.

Peace - you hit on something in your question about me possibly having leaped into something that I later regretted. Here goes.

When I left the town 2 years ago, I soon regretted my action. I left wholly because of the wishes of my partner. At the time I thought it was my decision... but in hindsight it was not. I was pushed into leaving. This realisation took a long time to come clear to me. How could I have been so blind as not to have seen the way I was manipulated? But I did not see it at the time. (And I've always been told I'm an intelligent woman! Must have had a brainstorm!)

The latest very good news for me developed over the weekend. It looks as if I can find the money to buy the house. I so want to buy it and feel as if this is my 'turning point'. My take on 24 for both my questions is of 'you are doing the right thing to go back'. By returning to the area I love but into a different home feels so right. Please feel free to add more postings on this. All of your input is always valued by me.

Kind wishes

P.S. to Dobro. I hope my posting has answered your very pertinent question. I see getting back to where I belong as in buying the house. One way or the other, it's an interesting journey for me!
