26.1.3 > 4 career

So here is my issue:

4 years ago - I was spotted by a famous director and ended up in an international film which has not yet been released... so I've been floating around without an agent ever since.

I'm in L.A. for a week - was wondering if I should just get on with it and approach better agents myself regardless of this film's problems. But I have no frigging clue what I'm doing and don't want to look like an idiot.

So I asked the yi "What should I do regarding my agent issue?"

26.1.3 > 4 is my answer.

So, I take 26.1.3 to mean that this is not the right time for me and line 3 to show some clearance of an obstacle happening.

I take number 4 to point to my naivety on the matter?

Am I right?

You're a little 'wet behind the ears', as they say - but that's OK. Other pleasures may be getting in the way - mixing business with pleasure. This could be the danger that's lurking. I think it's ok to persist but be aware of any and all dangers as you proceed. Good luck - very cool to have been part of a film after being spotted.

Keep us posted

Thanks Jon! I didn't think of the business with pleasure thing... that gives some room for thought :)

Watergoddess1, it seems to me that 26.1.3 > 4 is encouraging you to go for it, in a restrained (dignified) yet purposeful way. My reading may be prejudiced, having lived in LA for many years and having a clue about performers and the obstacles they face. If you wait for that movie to come out, you may wait forever, as many good productions never see the light of day.

You were "discovered" once, but that's unusual and may never happen again. But having had that experience and a few excellent names to drop, you have enough to advance on H-wood with more than most neophyte actors.

I like the Modern Poet's I Ching for answers to creative project questions. http://janan.members.sonic.net/ching/main.html

Hex 26,THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT, says:
Some people may venerate you for individual talents, but all-in-all, you embody a "total package" of attributes. Obviously, this is an enviable position in many ways, and you are no stranger to the spotlight and pressure performance.

Two considerations: The unflagging pressure can have a deadening, numbing effect on your inspiration, turning you into a kind of "show pony" who does great tricks on command for the sake of applause. Since you are in a class by yourself, there may be few challenges to spur you onto a greater evolution and transformation. You must go to the mystical sources of your talents and become one with the heart center inside you. Let the inner voice direct your development.

Going cold turkey into an agency office is intimidating, but if you truly have the "total package," which apparently you do, the challenge may spur you to evolution and transformation if your heart (desire) is strong. Stay at the center of your spirit in the midst of whatever or whoever you meet there. Clearly, you have something to offer.

Line 1:
Obstacles block your path. Wait for the power inside you to find the right outlet. Drop back, look at your world intensely, and store up energy for a later and better time to act.

You may not get an appointment with the right agent/agency right away. "Look at the world intensely" says to me that you can gather information about agencies and think intensely about what might work for you. Do some research, read their resumes.

LIne 3
Things are moving. Friends have appeared or are about to. Travel determinedly onward toward them, if you are going in the same direction. Watch out. Use your power not to make any mistakes. Listen to your intuition; it will guide you now.

Go for it. Determinedly. Use your intuition, best judgment, and things may work out for you.
Hexagram 4 "Youthful Spirit
You are lucky right now, although you may not see it clearly. In fact, you have probably been through a decidedly unsettling period in your life….

You will experience a shifting teacher/student role for yourself at this time. One moment you may find yourself explaining life's secrets to someone close to you--the next moment you will be puzzled and reaching out for a bit of wisdom to help you through. A positive and thoughtful attitude will ensure you of gaining the most from the magical, yet confusing, dazzle of these days. Be patient as summer and gentle and wise as rain. Although you don't have wide experience with great numbers of people over long years of life, you have a talent for understanding which sets you apart from most people. You encourage and explain at the right times for others, as you delve into the depths of human nature.

If we take Hex 4 as the background situation, you are not really experienced at the business of finding jobs (acting) for yourself, but the business suits you. You can trust yourself to find a mentor, friends, and those who understand how the very tricky entertainment business works. If you try.

Good luck!
