Hi everyone, I have asked I Ching about my love life and marriage and I keep getting hexagram 29. I am worried, I have recently broke up with my ex, and my previous relationships were not happy. I wonder if I will be ever happy in love. I guess I am very romantic and naive person and get disappointed very easily, also very emotional. Please help me, explain to me how long will It will be like this and what does this hexagram means in my situation, am I able to change anything in my love life, I am 29 years old... Thank you very much!

Hi Zumi,

29 isn't as foreboding as some would think. It indicates danger, but more than that, a need to successfully confront danger-- usually of an emotional variety-- and in doing so, move past it. It's sort of "dive under the giant wave rather than turn your back to it." Maybe there are emotional issues or fears that you haven't confronted properly...old hurts, demons, things that hold you back or make you choose the wrong people? I think a period of serious self-reflection is called for. If I drew this hexagram, I would look unflinchingly at my own patterns and feelings in past (failed) relationships, draw an honest inventory and let myself feel the difficult emotions that might arise.

I might also ask myself whether I've been subconsciously choosing people who represent an emotional danger, since this could be pointing to that. What do you think it means? In any case, take heart. There is no fatality here, and if anything, 29 unchanging (to my mind) is just an encouragement to be brave about facing what feels dangerous. That of course does not mean putting up with people who are wrong for you. But it can mean plumbing the depths of your disappointment, hurt, or other difficult emotions from the past, and moving past them. From there, you'll probably have a stronger spiritual foundation, and the clarity to choose someone who's really right for you. I've gone through such a process, and though I still struggle with difficult feelings and insecurities, I have gotten into a wonderful and caring relationship after a string of emotionally abusive ones. I wasn't able to do so before taking a real inventory of what had happened in the past, though, and consciously deciding to choose something different. Good luck! :)

I believe it is basically saying you need to sort out your emotional 'baggage' to end up in a successful relationship.
It takes courage to do this as we have to really look within and this possibly reminds us of unpleasant memories.
Try to fear doing this, in the long term, hopefully, it will bring much healthier relationships. - Liss

I want to say "thank you so much" to both of you, who clarified this hex for me. I think I am getting into the process of understanding my weaknesses in emotional sphere (such as overreacting, perfectionism and disappointment). But I feel so relieved. Thank you so much!!!

This is a 9 year old girl (my grandkid) doing a Hex 29 thing,
above an abyss, without fear.
29 isn't a bad thing. It's an adventure.
Gets the heart pumping. Don't overthink this. Stay in it.
